What is the performance of OpenVPN in Asuswrt-Merlin (RT-68)

Hello,
I plan to open VPN session (as client) on my RT68 to a remote server. Encryption takes some resources then question: assuming my WAN connection is 100Mbit/s and that remote VPN server is super fast, what data trhoughput can I expect on my Asus RT68U router? I am pretty sure this VPN takes some resources. Eg. can it do easily 20Mbit/s, while still keeping good transfers inside my local LAN?

I get the following speeds on my 68U using PIA.

AC68U (1.0 Ghz dual core)
CTF enabled
DL: 44 Mbps with core 1 at 30%, core 2 at 80%
UL: 58 Mbps with core 1 at 40%, core 2 at 100%

Data encryption: AES-128-CBC
Data authentication: SHA1
Handshake: RSA-2048
