If I recall correctly on my Merlin-enabled RT-N66U I could configure SNMP under Administration => SNMP. I see no such tab on my freshly configured Merlin-enabled RT-AC86U. I actually really like using SNMP to track the status of everything on my network using PRTG. I hope it's still available somewhere.

It was removed from the 384.4 or 5 due to incompatibility. Check the change log
 
Not compatible with the Broadcom Ethernet driver for the RT-AC86U (floods syslog with error messages) or RT-AX88U (causes the router to crash and reboot).

That's unfortunate. Well, I'll look at other mechanisms of recording the in/out internet traffic in PRTG.
