New Around Here
GOAL : I have a laptop and desktop , within the desktop 2*500 GB hard disk as storage where most stuff end up. I am a bit tired with always turning on my desktop or to sync manually my laptop with the disks by turning on bought and using windows share ,...

So my NAS should support :
-user accounts (my dad itunes libary prob will end on it)
-2 hard disk slot in raid , most likely raid 1
-performance is really nice plus point
-budget around 200 euro's(without disks, no point in going really expensive now with USB 3, SATA3 , SDD growth,... arriving during this year)
-itunes server

Nice to have if price allows it
-e-sata , since i have a e-sata/usb 2.5(NFTS) inch external disk for backup for most critical files on the 500GB disks
-bittorrent/e-mule support

Not sure to have
-hot swappable , not sure yet if this would be really nice?
-iSCSI , is this nice to have?

So I made a list and added here and there a question about them, but unlike when I build a pc all these NAS brands names are completly new to me. So if anyone has a good argument to not buy , buy or can answer a question your help is really apreciated.

D-LINK
D-Link DNS-323 145,20 €
Cheap , and basic
-performance weak according to review on this site?
-missing quiet a lot of mangement features compared to others?
-no download functionality?

Netgear
MS2110-100PES STORA 162.14 euros (1TB included)
-cheap
-pay anual fee ?
-only raid 1 , seams this one is also extremly limited in mangement

Netgear RND2000-100ISS Discless 226,27

Seagate
Seagate BlackArmor NAS 220 2TB 283,14 (2TB included)
-out of budget , but on otherhand I get 2 TB , which would put it under 200 euros if it was possible to get one without disks.
-slow,specially USB backup wise?

Iomega

Iomega StorCenter ix2-200 1TB 202 euros
most reviews are average
with some complaining about running to hot , and beeing sluggish on webinterface

QNAP
QNAP TS-210 212 euro's

Synology
Synology Disk Station DS209 238 euros

Synology Disk Station DS210j 175 euros
A downgrade version of the 209 it seams , but have not found any performance numbers on this one yet

Still have a lot of reading to do , most annoying thing in my comparision is that some come actually with 1 or 2 hard disk and including that makes it the best price, anyway reason not to buy one is helpfull.
