Which router should be the main? ASUS RT-AX86U Pro vs GT-AX6000

I had two GT-AX6000s in the past in a wired mesh haul configuration. One of them had water damage so I ordered an AX86U Pro this time.

I know those routers are very similar other than the extra 2.5GBPS port on the GT-AX6000. Is there any reason to set the AX86U Pro as the main router or just keep the current GT-AX6000 as the main one and add the RT-AX86U PRO as the mesh?

The GT-AX6000 would probably be a better fit, since it would allow to use one 2.5 Gbps port for WAN, and another to connect to a 2.5 Gbps LAN switch. Otherwise, it does not really make a difference.

Got it, thank you

What happened? Sounds like a flood in your area. Everyone okay?
Oh no, I just spilled the water bottle which was next to the router. The router was working but it kept disconnecting randomly to the point where I couldn't use it any more reliably.

thanks for your concern
