New Around Here
I have an ASUS RT-AX88U right now but security cameras drop off wifi.
House 3200sq ft. 2 stories.
Have a network center (leviton) in a center room in upstairs office in wifi cabinet.
In 2005 installed cat5 cable to most rooms in the house in outlet with phone and TV coax.
All wiring goes through a network panel and connects to a switch. Not using any of the remote hardwired connections except main router RT-AX88U. Not sure how to test that they connect.
I run a lot of devices (smart devuces, security cameras ~20), stream TV in 3 rooms, gaming system Xbox x.

Looking to purchase additional asus unit(s) to set up 2-3 potential AP to help with connectivity.

The camera that drops off most often is driveway camera (wyze pro floodlight). It is closer to router than cameras on the back of the house.

No issues upstairs.

Looking at Zenmesh xd5 3 pack.
Put 1 in downstairs living room in back of the house.
Put 1 in downstairs living room in front of the house (closer to security cameras that drops off)
Future 1 outside in covered patio near pool.

Questions:
1. Is the xd5 a good option?
2. Is there a better wifi6 option?
3. How would I configure for best results.

I am a slight better then novice/newbie.

I use my router setting and have data limiters on heavy data users like roku, xbox. Plan to add Xbox to hardwired port for gaming (settings for router?) and computer.running latest merlin firmware

Are you in the EU/UK or US/Canada ?

Make a plan view sketch of your house , floor by floor, showing layout of walls (inside/outer, windows, doors, etc), type of wall construction ( gypsum board, brick veneer, cabinets, etc) , location of existing devices, location of your terminated CAT5 (or is it CAT5e ? Were they intended for phone or ethernet ? ) in the rooms please. Then we may be able to give you better advice.

Also a sketch of the connection from the ISP modem/router (wireless on or off ? ) to all hardwired devices.

Two such consumer wireless routers (if that's your choice) can likely cover your space... but need to be spread apart, high and in the clear... not buried in a hot cabinet and co-located with other electronics/noise.

I would not connect anything to my network until I need it... and then only one thing at a time, confirming that it works as it should. I would wire everything that doesn't move for robustness and to unburden my radio space/WiFi.

Looking to purchase additional asus unit(s) to set up 2-3 potential AP to help with connectivity.

Too much WiFi is not helpful. My 2-node AiMesh covers 3 levels, a detached garage and the surrounding two acres.

The camera that drops off most often is driveway camera (wyze pro floodlight). It is closer to router than cameras on the back of the house.

Troubleshoot that until you understand what the issue is... maybe the radios are being blocked/distorted by some dense material or noise interference.

No issues upstairs.

Makes senses... closest to the AP buried in the cabinet.

Zen product is intended to be a self-contained plug and play system... you will be trying to integrate it with what you have... possible perhaps but it's not simply buy and add without knowing what you're working with.

You need a plan first. I would fix what you've got first and then think about improvements... or hire a pro.

With any decent Internet service, you should not have to throttle your users... so, another step in the wrong direction.

And why are you using thrid-party firmware... you need a good reason to take this on?

Playing devil's advocate here,
