Will my setup be able to cope this?

The idea I have is to place the modem in the living room together with a wireless N bridge and the place another bridge that I can connect to my router.

The setup would then be like:
Cable modem -> Wireless Bridge device -> Wireless Bridge device -> Router -> Wired and wireless clients.

My router is an Asus WL500-G Premium with DD-WRT firmware.

My internet connection speed will be 50Mbit downlink and 2Mbit uplink.

With 50Mbps-down service from your ISP, that first-link as WiFi via bridges is a very bad idea. Also, the (cable?) modem to router WAN connection needs to be layer 2 transparent, e.g., an ethernet cable.
