Win7 networking map is confusing when AP is plugged in

I am using a GS108T switch for the main wired network. I have a Netgear WDNR3700 (configured as a AP) plugged into the switch.

Whenever the AP is on Win7 client show a network map going through the WNDR3700. When off the network amp looks as expected.

Why is that?
