Windows networking shares list

Hi guys,

I have a small issue that is going to make me shoot myself

Every 2 or 3 boots my WD Mycloud Nas will get lost

From the windows 10 network shares list

If I manually put the ip in the address bar, it will open up fine

I pinned it to the quick access and it always works, also it woks

Through the WD software, So it not a Drive issue

But a windows networking issue

Has anyone of you guys had a problem with your nas like this

And if so, how can I solve it?

I’ve done all the usual stuff, like rebooting everything

Sometime ,I will turn it on and it will show up like nothing wrong

Thank you

Windows 10 1607.222

Intel based NICs

Asus RT-AC3200 Merlin 380.62_1

WD Mycloud Gen2 4TB /FW: 2.21.119

Do the updates on your Windows PC and reboot (we're now at 1607 (OS Build 14393.321).

Boot order is important. As is waiting for each device to boot fully too (at least 5 full minutes for each device, no matter how fast an IP address seems to be assigned).

Modem. Wait to fully boot.
Router. Wait to fully boot.
Switches.
All wired Devices (NAS', Printer(s), etc.).
All wired computers.
All wireless computers.

If you're rebooting the NAS (only) or the computer (only), depending if one or the other was sleeping previously, it may or may not show the rest of the network devices.

the only devices that disappear are the NAS
all other PC,printers,show up normally

but how can I prevent it from disappearing
like I said it happens every other boot
Thank you

But what are you rebooting, resuming from sleep or otherwise turning on again though?

Make sure the router is set as the default master browser. This will force the router to display all shared and connected devices in Windows and other machines or hardware.

ok,I will try that
but before I do it
Now I have 2 instances of the WD Mycloud
1 I can access without issue and 1 that will open but I can't access it
Thank you

I don't see that option for master browser in the router
my WD Mycloud has that option though
Thank you

My PC is the only one one the network that seems to have this issue(out of 3)
Thank you

You're very good at not answering what is asked. :)

Try answering the questions asked of you, previously. ;)

Look in USB Application on the left hand side, click on Media Servers and Services and then click on the Network Place (Samba Share) tab to find the Master Browser option.

How does this apply?
It is not a usb device,it 's connected via ethernet
Does. it still apply? is it global?
as far as the previous question ,I am confused at what you mean(But what are you rebooting, resuming from sleep or otherwise turning on again though?)
I'm only dealing with 1 device
Thank you
