Wireless client mode

New Around Here
I have an agreement with my neighbor to use their wi-fi. It is a 2.4GHz network with wpa2-psk.

I have a RT-AC66U router.

I would like to use the 2.4GHz radio on my router to connect to my neighbor's network as a client. This connection should serve as the WAN.

I would then like the router to do its thing (firewall, nat, etc.) and use the 5GHz radio as an AP for my devices. My network over the 5GHz radio would have its own SSID and security, and devices connected to it should be unreachable from my neighbor's network.

Is this currently possible with merlin? Thank you all

I think you can only use your router (any router as far as I know) for only one purpose at a time.

Asuswrt-Merlin does not support working as a wifi client.

If it was me, I would repurpose an older router as a wireless client and use that to feed the WAN port. I have two 520GCs and a 520GU that over time I've traded up from.

Yeah that's what I'll have to do. I was hoping to keep it to one device. I'm surprised Asus doesn't have a client mode setting for these routers.
