Any help on this problem would be greatly appreciated. I've been having a problem with my ASUS RT-n66u where every couple of days the wireless network would just drop leaving me unable to connect to the Internet with any wireless device such as my iPad, phone, or PlayStation 4 until I reboot the router.

I own two PlayStation 4s that are frequently being used for online play by my brother and I. There are several wireless devices connected to the network as well that are frequently being used. The problem only occurs wirelessly and at random times. My PlayStation, which has a wired connection, does not lose internet connection when the drops occur.

I've searched online for a solution many times but have never found a problem exactly like mine. I would really like to figure it out as soon as possible.

I'm running the latest Merlin build with the 2.4 ghz channel set to 11 and the 5 ghz channel set to auto.

Any messages in the system log? Does the wireless not show up at all or are they just not able to reach the Internet? When you updated to the latest (I'm assuming 378.55), did you do a factory reset and setup the settings from scratch? If you've updated to iOS9 on the iPad you might need to reset your network settings as well.

I never thought to check the system log, ill check the next time the problem occurs. The devices are all still connected to the router but arent able to connect to the internet. And no i never factory reset the router after i updated to the merlin build ill go ahead and try that as well and get back with an update if the problem still occurs. Thanks for your reply :)

Happened today again before i factory reset the router, here are the messages that showed up in the system log:

This time, though, i didn't have to reset the router, the connection restored on its own pretty quickly. I'm not sure if that would have been the case before but I've never had it restore as fast as it did today. I usually have it sit for 5-10 minutes to see if its just a quick drop and end up rebooting it after it doesn't come back online.
