Wireless range in th house....

Hi guys,

Maybe someone from you have an idea how to extent the range from the router. With my old buffalo I didn't have a problem in the sleeping roo. But with the ac56u I have a real small signal. I tried different settings but nothing much changed. The router is in the main room which is around 2 meter through the wall from the sleeping room. Between is one wall but not from the stones :-) I have attached some apps with the signal strength in the sleeping room and the settings I currently have. If somebody have an idea, plus let me know and I will try :-)

Thanks

First question: Do you have a "really small signal" showing on your client device (I suppose it is a Sony Xperia Z1 cell phone), when it is in the SAME ROOM as the router? In both 2.4 and 5ghz?

Second question: How much signal do other devices show, 2.4 and 5ghz? Both in the same room as the router, and also when they are in the room that you are asking about.

Also in 2.4ghz it is always a good first troubleshooting step to limit the channel bandwidth to 20 Megahertz (not 40Mhz etc).

In the same room as the router it's shows full signal and the result in details attached. I'm like 2 meters free space from the router. Even than it should be better I guess.

Didn't see the other question. Yes this what I used for test is the Sony Z1 in this case. But the issue is also with my laptop which has a Intel 6300 inside.

The settings for WiFi i have already. I was reading before already and found some good information, but it didn't change me much.

I have have the 2.4 with 20 MHZ setup. And infect the 5 GHZ is more strong what is strange for me as the 2.4 should be stronger.
