Wireless Range issue

I have an Asus AC1900 RT-AC68P with Merlin FW 380.63_2. noticed that like 10 feet away form router upstairs and mind house is made out of wood no medal or concrete in between floors. i use both 2.4 and 5ghz signals and both are very low when i am up in my room. I am using an iphone 5s and wife uses iphone 6. can anyone recommend proper pro settings for both so there is no conflict with other wireless networks around our condo area, bandwidth loss thanks

Check your antenna orientation. They should be in a "\ | /" formation, not "| | |". The signal strength is strongest at 90 degrees to the antenna so try to align one of the antennas so that it is perpendicular to the room upstairs.

iPhones are know for bad reception of wireless signals - much worse to Andorid devices - I know it well as my wife suffers it on her iPhones, but not me on my Andorid devices.

In the past you could influence the transmission power but no loger with the actual firmware versions - you might end up with another or second router/access point in the 2nd floor - same as I need to do - see footer...
