Hi all,
In the UK I use Sky Broadband and they give you a DG834, this doesn't handle traffic very well and the wireless is poor.
So I bout a WNDR3700, however my sky router uses PPPOA and the WNDR3700 only has PPPOE so I can't give my ADSL connection straight to the WNDR3700 as I would like.
So I have set up my connection as follows;
On the Sky router:
Switch Wireless OFF
Set DHCP Off and IP address of router to 192.168.0.1
Set DMZ to 192.168.0.2
On the WNDR3700:
Set Internet Connection Type: Static IP
Set internet connection IP to 192.168.0.2
I think with this I will avoid double nat however i'm not 100% sure, should I also disable the Firewall on the Sky router or leave it on.
Will this make the WNDR3700 do all the routing instead of my Sky router, as it goes down every couple of days and I was hoping changing to the WNDR3700 would be a good solution?
I'm not totally clued up so don't know if this will work on not?
Any Ideas
