WPA Auto-personal bug.

I (and one or two others) have asked about this in a couple of other threads over the past few months, but the question has never been addressed that I can find.

I have some legacy devices that are WPA-only (TKIP). They will not work with WPA2 (AES). On the version of Asus-Merlin I am currently stuck with, 374.40_beta2, I have the option of selecting WPA-Personal, or WPA2-Personal or WPA-Auto-Personal.

Any subsequent version I have tried no longer has the WPA-Personal option, and the devices are unable to connect using the WPA-Auto-Personal setting. Another user in another thread determined that the Auto setting was not falling back from WPA2 to WPA.

Is there any way that the option to manually select WPA-Personal can be restored? Please!

I think the WPA-Personal choice is only offered if you set the Wireless mode to 'Legacy'.

Son-of-a...

Ok, it works. Just upgraded to 378.51 and was able to set that guest network to WPA-Personal after scrolling down to "Wireless" and setting it to legacy.

Thanks!

But a word of warning....if you set Guest to Legacy, your main Wifi will also be forced to Legacy....
