I am posting this just to see if I can learn something new, I have a replacement for the damaged router so there is no way it could be worst.
I have an XD6 and all of a sudden it started not broadcasting its ssid for just a couple of minutes at a time, then one morning it was on the light was white but not only i did not broadcast ssid, also the main router did not detect it, and the wps button for hard reset and reset button simply do not respond, also there is no lan port working.
I have read other cases of faulty firmaware upgrade even someone that managed to flash the wrong firmware, but no general malfunction like this.
A couple of extra info, item out of warranty just by 4 months, there was no spike on electricity or any external action that could cause this malfunction. The autoupdate was off, and the firmware was the stock asus firmaware. There is no visible damage on the router board or on the antennas, all the soldering looks intact no visible sign of overheating or excess dirt.
As said before I just posted to see if i can learn what might have caused the damage more than for a need to repair.
Thanks in advance for any help or tips
