New Around Here
Hello,

I am currently on 3.0.0.4.374.32 (Merlin build) Merlin Build for Asus RT-n66U. I updated to this built from stock or official version using instructions some time ago...

However, now i want to update to the latest Merlin build. I am a little confused as to what I should do.

Do I do a factory rest and then clear NV RAM? Do I have to go again to original Asus Firmware and then to Merlin again? I see some instructions here but they are a bit confusing and I am just not exactly sure what I should follow..For example should I just sue the steps listed in this site but instead use Merlin's build instead of Shibby's?

http://www.shadowandy.net/2012/03/asus-rt-n66u-tomatousb-firmware-flashing-guide.htm

Or is there a clear website with clear and step by step instructions? Last time I did this I barely got it working this time I want to make sure I do everything correctly. Thank you.

Just flash the latest Asuswrt-Merlin version, then do a factory default reset afterward, and proceed with manually reconfiguring your routers. No additional step is required.

Thank you so much, so as instructed I will flash latest build and then do factory reset as the following states. Thanks a million for your help, it is very helpful.
To reset the ASUS RT-N66U back to the factory configuration:

Power off the router. Press and hold the small WPS button while*turning the power back on. Keep holding the WPS button pressed for about ten seconds, then release the WPS button. All settings have now been wiped, and default settings will be used.
