i was noticing lag time for any youtube vids, then on initial view of vid it would take approx 10-15sec to load vid.
rebooted computer, cleared history on both firefox and chrome, no change.
i then rebooted the router as it hasnt been rebooted in awhile and youtube works as expected, instantly loading/playing vids and w/no lag.
why does rebooting solve this and what setting can i tweak so i dont have to reboot

You could try the above builds. Is NAT acceleration enabled?

Have you reset the router to factory defaults as suggested in the above link?
nat acceleration is disabled.
been running since 378.56_2 since its release and nothing has been changed after initial setup and just lately youtube started acting weird .
rebooting router seems to have fixed the issue temporarily to my surprise as i didn't think it would it fix it even though the prob eventually returns

Try enabling NAT acceleration (or turn off the features that disable it) and reboot the router and see if you have any further slowdowns.

Rebooting should be a required step after you have configured the router as you like. ;)

Have you tried youtube from another device ?

well further testing reveals that its only firefox from multiple devices, html5.
chrome(html5) and ie(flash) dont have any load time issues or lag.
rebooting router seems to solve firefox issues but only for a short time.
disabling any vid addons didnt help.
im used to and like firefox more than chrome and ie.

edit: further testing reveals that adblock could be the root of the problem but works fine w/it enabled on chrome. weird that rebooting router works as a temp solution.
im off to google to find a solution, i hope :(

Also having FF issues, even with HTML5 videos, mostly with them stopping at various points. I doubt its anything to do with firmware. It's happened through many different ones and different FF versions. I'm starting to wonder if it's the way FF handles streaming packet loss because I have ~10% packet loss normally and know the node where the losses occur. I've tried emailing my ISP, they don't even bother to answer emails. o_O

Edit: I just noticed, at least for this time, it seems to be the router. I've now turned off QOS and per IP filtering and used two different PCs to ping test the router and the issue seems to have went away so far. I recall having a latency issue with per IP monitoring before so I've usually kept it off.

Edit 2: With the previous settings and moments later, I still had packet loss when pinging from both PCs for a minute. I switched to John's beta fork and all seems well. I don't do diagnostics with the previous firmwares much, maybe this was an issue all along. We'll see but as far as I've read, the N66U doesn't seem to like these new drivers.
