youtube videos start a second or two than halt with error

The videos start, the bar showing the file is preloading usually goes up, but in a second or two the video halts and an error message is displayed. The message why you look it up is generally meaningless.

A couple of weeks ago I started from scratch with my RT N66U with the current Merlin firmware. I came from an earlier Merlin release (after the fooling around with memory space). I believe something I did is causing the problem. I have spent a few hours searching, but I have just not managed to find an answer.

Can anyone tell me what youtube needs to run in terms of settings in the router. On just about any parameter. I started from the default configuration and I really don't know what a lot (well maybe most) of the assorted router settings actually do. Oddly, searching on what youtube needs in the router mostly gets you to a youtube explanation.

Is the issue by lan cable or WiFi?

YouTube doesn't need any special settings in the router to work. You plug it in out of the box and it works.

Hardwired only thru Comcast.

Yes, that was how it worked before for many years. Now there is something wrong. I may have made some bad settings.

Reset the router and start from scratch.

Since you are on Comcast, don't forget to change DHCP query frequency to Normal.(its in wan tab).
Set up WiFi and leave the rest of the settings alone.
