    RT-AX68U showing phantom wired connections

My RT-AX68U client list is accurate. Running 3.0.0.4.388_23285.

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.23285 (15-05-2023)

As I understand it, AsusWRT was originally based on the Tomato firmware although that was a long time ago.

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.23285 (15-05-2023)

I get it. A new firmware branch is a big deal. I have no idea how Asus handles that internally. I used to support a software control system and my spouse runs a software control system for a living. So I know that changes can be applied from one branch to another, if you have a capable system...

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.23285 (15-05-2023)

I just want the thing to work well. I don't know that expecting significant new features to be added after over 3 years is realistic. And calling that a product end of life if those features aren't likely to materialize seems questionable to me.

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.23285 (15-05-2023)

Assuming you mean the RT-AX86U, I don't really know, but I doubt it based on my previous experience with Asus router support.

Do you guys feel any difference between AX86U and Pro?

I don't have any first hand knowledge of GeForce NOW UPNP control, but found this... https://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1039503/

Do you guys feel any difference between AX86U and Pro?

Earlier I enabled UPnP on my AX86U with latest stock firmware and tested with Shields Up which reported "THE EQUIPMENT AT THE TARGET IP ADDRESS DID NOT RESPOND TO OUR UPnP PROBES!" I normally keep UPnP turned off out of an abundance of caution.

Do you guys feel any difference between AX86U and Pro?

I have UPnP disabled and can't really change it to test it right now but I'll try it later when I can. Update: I enabled UPnP on my AX86U with latest stock firmware and tested with Shields Up which reported "THE EQUIPMENT AT THE TARGET IP ADDRESS DID NOT RESPOND TO OUR UPnP PROBES!"

Asus RT-AX86U Pro Wi-Fi signal coverage

Channel 11 always worked best for me.

Asus RT-AX86U Pro Wi-Fi signal coverage

You didn't specifically say if you're using 20 MHz bandwidth and channel 1, 6, or 11 as bbunge suggested. I've been doing that for a long time now.

Asus RT-AX86U Pro Wi-Fi signal coverage

The 2.4GHz coverage was already pretty good when I bought my AX86U, but the 5GHz coverage was a lot better. The AX86U is the first router I've owned that provided decent 5GHz coverage of my entire home.

Do you guys feel any difference between AX86U and Pro?

If I was buying today and the price was similar I'd strongly consider the pro model. I bought my RT-AX86U approximately a year and 5 months ago. It's been a good router and I'm not overly concerned about losing firmware updates as Asus has been good in that regard, in my history buying their...

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.23285 (15-05-2023)

I've never had my RT-AX86 update when auto update was disabled. But I do think that one firmware update did turn auto update back on. Just once. I go check for updates fairly often so I noticed it and turned it back off.

It took 48 hours, but the mystery of the mass Asus router outage is solved

I've been using brother printers for years, decades actually, and been happy with them.

There were no noticable issues with my RT-AX86U running firmware version 22525.

Plex media server on GT-AX6000 running on Debian stretch?

So like in the below post. Those instructions seem pretty dated and I'm not really qualified to update them. It wouldn't never occurred to me to go that. I run Plex on a used Dell server which I bought at a local tech recycling company...

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22068

Now over 4 days on 3.0.0.4.388_22068-gf3adbcd on AX86U with no GUI slowness. Curious how long it took for those who saw a sluggish GUI response to manifest?

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22068

Been 2 days 5 hours on the latest firmware. No UI sluggishness yet but still might show up I guess.
