Asus RT-AC87U firmware and Trend Micro updates

Have had this router for just over a week and running great so far. Two
questions I have that someone might be able to shed some light on ?

1. In the 87U interface, it says 2061 is the latest firmware, even though it's
currently behind by 2. Is this because ASUS simply hasn't updated the site for
the router ? ..or is ASUS saying 2061 is the most "stable" ? I'm leaving mine
at 2061 for now since things are working well for my scenario.

2. Are Trend Micro updates only going to be available with firmware updates ?
Meaning, if ASUS is going to have anti virus protection in this and future
routers, it would be nice if there's a separate button(?) to get just the latest
AV updates, especially when firmware updates become far between or done.

Asus doesn't automatically update the version available through liveupdates. No idea if this is because they feel the newer version isn't as well tested, or because someone simply forgot to upload it to the liveupdate server, or to update the manifest on those update servers. Personally, I'd say go for whichever is newer, unless there's a Beta tag next to it, or the forum feedback is vastly negative.

Right now, I would personally recommend you go with the very latest version (2769).

Signature updates will be automatically obtained by the router, separately from the firmware itself. I don't know however if that functionality has been enabled yet, last time I talked with Asus about it was nearly two months ago, and back then it was still something under development.

I know that a button to force an update was one of the things they were planning back then as well. No idea if it's still the plan.
