Any AC68U owners going to blindly jump for the Linksys WRT1900AC?

I just want to know if this new Linkys has built in PPTP and OpenVPN server feature like my Asus does. (I don't mean a pass-through setting)

Also, what about a DDNS client built in. I do make use of the built in free Asus DDNS service.

Edit: Read on the Linksys forum that is only has pass-through.

This article says they plan to add wifi scheduling and open vpn. I have no idea if the information in the article is accurate. And if even it is accurate, I have no idea how soon they would add it.

No VPN server, just PPTP, IPsec, L2TP passthrough.

There are Dynamic DNS clients for DynDNS, TZO, NO-IP.

Impressive NAS performance tho. Looks like Marvell didn't starve the USB ports and is providing them enough bus bandwidth to push things at good speeds.

Lack of VPN server does not surprise me, only a handful of home gateways provide that at this point.

I set aside a little money for a new router this month and was going to try out the WRT 1900AC. Just read the review on SNB and was not impressed. Other than impressive storage transfer speeds the performance of the router and feature set does not justify the price tag. I just ordered a AC68u, just hoping the reboot issues are finally resolved.

I'm thinking about it at this point. I'm at a loss with my rt-ac68 I have gone through each channel and I feel every combination of settings and I just can't get it to provide me with 30 Mbps up and down that I pay my ISP for. I can get it hard wired but not wireless not even over 5 ghz bands the best I've gotten has been 22 mbps

I pay for 30 down, 3 up. On RMerlin's latest on rt-ac68u.
This is on the 2.4 ghz at 20hz.

I can't even get mine to go above 22mbps 7 feet away from the router. I've tried all the channels in the 2 GHz both on 20 and then on 40 . my devices all show high link rates like 96 in the 2.4 and 433 on the 5 GHz.

See. Its all over the place.

Yeah I saw that while I was searching the threads. I've gone though all that and then some. I'm mostly on my phone which is the note 3 or my iPad mini or my iPad 3 all of which all sshow the same speeds as my laptop

Is there any way you can move the router to a different location for testing purposes. That way you can rule out location or an object messing you up.

Edit: check your manual for recommended antenna position too.
