OpenVPN client can't connect to local resources over port 80/443, but can ping them by IP

Just set up OpenVPN Server on Merlin v 3004.388.8_4, and it seems to be starting/running OK. I connected a client to it using the OpenVPN app (tried this on both iOS and Windows 11), and it connects and I get an IP address in the 10.8.0.x range. However I am unable to access LAN resources via ports 80 or 443. I can ping them (i.e. ping 192.168.1.1 works), however when I attempt to access them via an internet browser, it times out. I also tried connecting to one of them via RDP (port 3389), and that works fine. I have changed the settings in OpenVPN server to allow clients to access lan only/internet only/both, and with the exception of ping not working when I select internet only, the behavior is unchanged - no access via port 80/443.

Any suggestions on where to start looking or what I may have wrong?

Are you trying to connect over LAN or Internet?

I am trying to connect via Internet - not a bad question at all...

I don't think so - for instance, one of the devices I am trying to access is my Asus device itself, and also a Hubitat that does not have local-vs-wan firewall restrictions in place.
