Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.4 Beta is now available

Also flashed BE92U without issue coming from Asus 3.0.0.6.102_37506 dirty flash. Used the Merlin instructions with "nvram set DOWNGRADE_CHECK_PASS=1". Works like a champ. Thanks Merlin!!!!!!! The signal for 6 GHz (channel 5 is the main one I use) is 3 - 5 dBm worse on the Asus Merlin...

    Release RT-BE92UFirmware version 3.0.0.6_102_37526-g5772bd6_1099-ga930e 04/02/2025

The RT-BE92U router is stable but would benefit by Gnuton or Merlin adding it to their builds to get the additional features, logging, etc. Plus their builds are generally more frequent and more up to date on 3rd party SW. CPU cores with artificially high load seems to have improved with the...

    Release RT-BE92UFirmware version 3.0.0.6_102_37526-g5772bd6_1099-ga930e 04/02/2025

I am using DNS encryption over TLS protocol (Transport Layer Security). It is a WAN setting. This uses opensource software in the background called "stubby" that intercepts the DNS queries on the router and uses the encrypted DNS providers selected so all the lookups are fully encrypted. My...

    Release RT-BE92UFirmware version 3.0.0.6_102_37526-g5772bd6_1099-ga930e 04/02/2025

I have pages and pages of Kernel PKT (packet) messages on 3.0.0.6_102_37523 and 3.0.0.6_102_37526 that I do not get on 3.0.0.6_102_37506. I have no idea what functions you are using. I am using main and guest networks, IPv6, DNS over TLS and all 3 wireless bands over a 500 Mbps fiber...

    Release RT-BE92UFirmware version 3.0.0.6_102_37526-g5772bd6_1099-ga930e 04/02/2025

This build 3.0.0.6_102_37526 is pretty bad (37523 also was crap for those who could load it). We probably all have pages and pages of what appear to be debug logfile entries with a bunch of hex registers. Look at your logfile or via SSH look at dmesg. Apr 4 18:09:03 kernel: PKT: Apr 4...

    Release RT-BE92U Firmware Firmware version 3.0.0.6_102_37523-g25e34fa_1096-gff526 03/27/2025

I think this new build 3.0.0.6.102_37526 sucks. CPU load seems higher under traffic. Anyone else seeing that.

    Release RT-BE92UFirmware version 3.0.0.6_102_37526-g5772bd6_1099-ga930e 04/02/2025

It looks like Asus is updating the bootloader in all of these updates. That is a generally bad practice unless they are actually fixing some faults or adding functionality in the bootloader. Anyone know why Asus is doing that?

    Release RT-BE92U Firmware Firmware version 3.0.0.6_102_37523-g25e34fa_1096-gff526 03/27/2025

Replacement firmware update 3.0.0.6.102_37526 pushed out by Asus on the mobile app as a "stability update" for the RT-BE92U. The bootloader is updated again. This time to bootloader version U-Boot2019.07(03/31/2025-12:01:07+0800)50404p3@523100.

    Release RT-BE92U Firmware Firmware version 3.0.0.6_102_37523-g25e34fa_1096-gff526 03/27/2025

Yes. One would think Asus would push out the update quite soon as it has been a while since the failed release of 3.0.0.6_102_37523

    Release RT-BE92U Firmware Firmware version 3.0.0.6_102_37523-g25e34fa_1096-gff526 03/27/2025

Doesn't seem like Asus can fix this firmware update.

ASUS RT-BE92U BE9700 is now the most popular Asus router on pricerunner.dk.

The RT-BE92U is a popular router because it is tri band, hitting a very competitive price point and has decent specs. It also appears to be sold in nearly all Asus markets globally. In the US, Best Buy gets a handful in stock at a brick & mortar store and they sell pretty much immediately. So...

    Release RT-BE92U Firmware Firmware version 3.0.0.6_102_37523-g25e34fa_1096-gff526 03/27/2025

And whomever zipped the file at Asus should receive retraining (perhaps even job shadowing) in zip file management. The firmware file for 3.0.0.6.102_37523 cannot be unpacked correctly from Zip as it is truncated.

    Release RT-BE92U Firmware Firmware version 3.0.0.6_102_37523-g25e34fa_1096-gff526 03/27/2025

The upgrade can work over the air from the Asus app (as the over the air update is not in a zip container). I successfully upgraded to 3.0.0.6.102_37523 from the Asus app on my mobile phone. Note that it appears this update also updates the bootloader as the bootloader version is now...

    Release RT-BE92U Firmware Firmware version 3.0.0.6_102_37523-g25e34fa_1096-gff526 03/27/2025

This is ridiculous. Hard to imagine why Asus cannot store a firmware image properly for a router that actually needs the stability update.
