Release ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_36382 (2025/03/12)

As I've explored the new 3006 menus, one thing I'm not crazy about is what they've done to the Internet speed measurement display. Instead of selecting a server and actually seeing, in real time, the actual throughput in both directions, what they replaced it with is a dumb display that just shows up/down with no ability to select servers or see the actual measurements. So I now have a relatively useless display that just says 5Gbps Send Rate and 5Gbps receive rate. From what server, when was measurement taken? I liked the old one much better.

Did you need to do a hard reset after firmware upgrade. It did not upgrade just doing the update.

Personally, I would like to be able to turn off all those network pings and Game Monitors and what not, otherwise, stable so far past couple of days

I wonder if Merlin’s is the same or whether he’s kept the previous Speedtest version? Looks like there is an alpha version up.

Woo-hoo! Upgraded GT-AXE16000 to the new 3.0.0.6 firmware. All went smoothly so far! I was running the beta and had already gotten used to the VLAN options. The official release looks polished and I like the changes.

Dear Asus, I was starting to regret buying such an expensive router because it seemed like your firmware support was very short and may have already ended for all I knew. Customers can be patient and loyal if they know work is still being done but finicky and disgruntled if kept in the dark so it's smart business to engage with customers more.

@Squididdle Do, this forum is independent of Asus. Asus do not provide official support to this forum. It is likely Asus does not officially actively monitor this subforum. Your best bet, if you want to provide feedback to Asus, is to use the Feedback form/page in the stock Asus firmware GUI (see Administration > Feedback).

In previous versions of the firmware you could choose between 5G-1st and 5G-2nd band for a guest network ... I can not see that in this version ... Is there anyway to do that ?

I thought this day will never come, I R Happy. Thanks Asus!
Aside from everything already said, I am glad to share that the Router app bug showing only 2 ssids with wrong names is also solved after 3.0.0.6, I now see all 4 of my networks, with the correct names!

I've loaded the update but have a few issues. Anytime I try to use network map or wireless settings in the web gui it freezes and I have to do a manual reset. Also traffic analyzer does not work or internet speed test. Everything else seems fine including vlan. I have done everything up through a firmware restoration to no success. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Perhaps you need to do a factory reset.

I've updated from latest 3.0.0.4.388 version to the first 3.0.0.6.102 firmware release without issues. No factory reset in my case.

Not sure what you mean by this, for me it looks the same, can select server and shows real speed, not connection rate

What browser are you using?
I don't use traffic analyzer, but Chrome runs really well for me for the 3 scenarios you're talking about.

I guess my sugestion is to try a different browser or different version.

PS: I saw in the UI that is the first time I used speed test from my router since Feb 2023 :)

I have used Chrome, Edge and Firefox and all same results. I feel somehow the firmware got corrupted and now downgrading resetting and everything else through restoration just doesn't help any. I hope tomorrow after the family leaves in the morning I can upgrade to the merlin pre-beta version that others seem to have working well.

I didn't know that test was there :D
Never used the ROG until I got a GT-6000 and a AXE 16K. Not interested in some marketing bs like game acceleration. Never clicked that tab.
It does speed tests automatically? I see results in my history from Feb 28 and March 5 on this 16K. I never tested using this test AFIK.
I know Merlin FW has it. Used that for over 10 years.

I haven't noticed it ever doing it automatically, so I doubt it, but can't say 100%. Maybe you forgot? :)
I don't use the game acceleration features either, but I do click on all tabs to see what they do :))))
Also moved from 2x AX-GT6k to AXE16k and I'm happy with the spider, especially now with the 3006 FW. I'm contemplating adding another one or maybe a BE25k to mesh the 6Ghz as well, as at the time it's pretty much wasted in a hallway.
