Did you do a factory reset?I installed the first Merlin Firmware finally available for RT-BE92U but now my 5ghz and 6ghz are super speed downgraded...
Both are giving me under 1 gig I have 2 gig service... What do I do who else is having this issue?
Did you do a factory reset?
Have you seen an improvement on the 2.4 and 5Ghz bands ?? And what kind of range do you have with wifi 7 clients .?I'll summarize my experiences so far with the beta Merlin fw.
MLO and 6 Ghz are problematic, which is no wonder, because the ASUS source also has problems with it.
However, I'm currently putting quite a load on the router's resources, I'm running SMB with 4 large HDDs, 2 VPNs,
2 wireless networks (Main network 2.4 Ghz/5 Ghz, IOT network 2.4 Ghz) with 40+ devices on it,
and I've been running a Smart Life local server on it for manage my smart devices, and a Deluge server is also running on it with a lot torrent.
It's been working stably under all these loads so far.
So we have to wait until ASUS fixes 6 Ghz and MLO.
Plus, you can also use 6 Ghz, but then you have to reduce the signal strength to minimum, I just turned it off for simplicity.
Without 6 Ghz, the rest much better. I only have one wifi 7 compatible device, but I don't yet tried since beta, but tomorrow I will test it.Have you seen an improvement on the 2.4 and 5Ghz bands ?? And what kind of range do you have with wifi 7 clients .?
Thanks , that is just what I was looking for . And you seem to be giving the router a good workout , if it is stable with all you are running should have no problems with my setupWithout 6 Ghz, the rest much better. Naw bro go right ahead install the beta firmware and do a hard reset and let me know if you end up having same problem as meI'm interested in installing Merlin firmware, should I wait for the full release firmware?
Can I restore my current setting after installing the Merlin firmware?
Here is my setup, they are all stable, most of my devices are connected to Wifi 5G, I only have 2 devices able to connect to Wifi 6G. In my case, Wifi 5G with better speed and range compared to Wifi 6G.
Wifi-IOT 2.4G
Wifi 5G with Wifi 7
Wifi 6G with Wifi 7
VPN fusion WireGuard Nordvpn
Installed the beta firmware, no hard reset. I'll monitor for a few days; everything seems to be running fine.Naw bro go right ahead install the beta firmware and do a hard reset and let me know if you end up having same problem as me
Naw dude you have to do a hard reset it's recommended because you're jumping from Asus firmware to Merlin... What you did I heard it's called dirty somethingInstalled the beta firmware, no hard reset. I'll monitor for a few days; everything seems to be running fine.
After the hard reset, can I restore the backup settings without having to reconfigure everything from scratch?Naw dude you have to do a hard reset it's recommended because you're jumping from Asus firmware to Merlin... What you did I heard it's called dirty something
Unfortunately no it's been said hereAfter the hard reset, can I restore the backup settings without having to reconfigure everything from scratch?
I did method 2Which reset should I perform? Method 1 or 2? https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1000925/
Factory reset and restored settings, everything is running fine.Unfortunately no it's been said here
Wow and you have the RT-BE92U???? I had to put back old router for now because I couldn't get Internet after setting up the router againFactory reset and restored settings, everything is running fine.
Restoring old settings after doing a factory reset negates the purpose of the factory reset. You might as well have not done it.Factory reset and restored settings, everything is running fine.
Any info if this router would support VLAN in the future?
