AIProtection and Shuting down with PowerStrip

Is it not possible that the power switch ON the device is different than simply yanking the cord from the wall, which is what turning off a power strip is essentially doing.

AIProtection and Shuting down with PowerStrip

My own opinion on the matter would be less concern about heat and expansion/contraction but about devices that use storage and file systems, like routers. A unexpected shutdown can leave the file system in a corrupt state.

    Color neutral computing terminology

How far down the rabbit hole? One step at a time, most small, some big, but as far as we need to. Society may never be able to quite reach the ideal but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t continue to try and do better. We certainly have needed to do A LOT better.

I think it requires both. And yes, I agree that this change we are talking about here would not have widespread exposure, but I think small things will still matter in the end.

    Color neutral computing terminology

It’s not a matter of liking or disliking what you said. It’s a matter of allowing discussion of the topic from both sides. I’m trying to respect the wishes of the moderator to terminate the discussion here but one view point continues pontificating.

    Color neutral computing terminology

I though this conversation was supposed to be shut down. No? If we’re allowed to continue the debate from both sides of the issue then please let it be known.

    Color neutral computing terminology

Aside from that being completely false, I though you had closed the conversation in your last post replying to me. Instead you’ve done nothing BUT continue it in a mocking fashion. Very adult.

Except it’s not. Not taking about it enough is part of the reason it’s a problem..... still.

    Color neutral computing terminology

Intended or not I don’t think we can deny the connotation that white = good black = bad in the naming scheme. It’s hardly an emergency type of situation but I’d support a carefully planned and tested switch to something like allow and deny.

    Slow Internet

A VPN tunnel will steal some of you’re speed in processing and overhead. Are you taking that in to account?

Switch to node or node to switch

    Either will work

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

I mean this with the absolute most respect possible but I think your IP scheme needs more thought. What you are doing is not how you IP scheme a home network even with as much control and separation as you seem to want between devices. Your IP scheme may be pleasing to the eye but it covers a...

What problem does this issue with the AppleTV cause, just annoying log entries?

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

A couple questions for the crowd if I might 1. I currently am using Diversion w/pixelserv, FreshJR, and Unbound with ipv4 enabled on my router. If I enable ipv6 do I need to reconfigure Diversion or pixelserv? 2. I’ve never bothered importing the pixelserv certificate into any of my devices...

    RT AC68U Wireless speed

Did you see my earlier reply to you, w11x22?

    RT AC68U Wireless speed

I assume from these speeds you are testing 2.4Ghz? Your difference may be due to channel width, 20 MHz vs 40 MHz. 20, although slower, is usually recommended.
