ASUS RT-AC68U Xbox Live Latency Issues (Wired Connection)

I doubt very much that intermittent moderate latency spikes (maybe not moderate for gamers) and small “brownouts” will ever show up on the outage pages of ISPs.

ASUS RT-AC68U Xbox Live Latency Issues (Wired Connection)

I’m on Comcast and I have issues including periodic latency jumps and lower than usual throughput. I believe that with cable internet that congestion issues could be down to the town or even neighborhood, depending on how they built it out. As you know cable shares bandwidth.

ISP having covid-19 quarantine congestion? I know mine is.

    Smart Connect Not So Smart?

I’ve turned that particular feature off on my varied Asus routers for several years after not having a good experience with it. I use aimesh now and it seems ok. With aimesh I’m wondering if it uses smart connect in some form or fashion or if the two are not related. It would be interesting...

Router Recommendations for up to 5000 sq. ft. WiFi

I believe the AX88U would have to one of them. Not sure what the second would be. Edit: on second read maybe I didn’t understand your question correctly. I’d still guess the AX88U but others may have a different opinion.

Router Recommendations for up to 5000 sq. ft. WiFi

I think you will need more than one access point. Just as an example, I have a 2600 sq ft, three level home, and I use three Asus devices in an aimesh setup to cover everything well. I have an AX88U, an AC88U, and a AC68U. I use Ethernet for everything in the house that has an Ethernet port...

Wifi connection issues since switching to AX88U

That’s how I started the mention, with an ‘@‘.

Wifi connection issues since switching to AX88U

Amofiav Did you have a chance to try my suggestion?

Wifi connection issues since switching to AX88U

Try turning off Wi-Fi 6 (ax) mode. I have the same router and this change has seemingly helped with quite a few clients having a hard time on my AX88.

YouTube time limit on nieces iPhone?

Like others have said Apple’s screen time will allow you to do what you want. You’ll have to get a hold of her phone though.

amtm amtm - the Asuswrt-Merlin Terminal Menu

My apologies if I missed this note elsewhere. For those that already have amtm installed is there anything special that needs to be done before or after the 384.15 firmware upgrade to keep it running correctly?

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

This is a question I’m interested in hearing some input in to as well.

    Aimesh Question

    You can connect wired devices.

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

My guess- corrupt USB file system.

    NextDNS Installer

Would this be used in concert with something like Diversion or would their functionality overlap?

    which releases should I install

The release notes will say the minimum version you need before upgrading.

    Aimesh firmware upgrade question

I have a AX88U as the master, a AC68 and a AC3100 as aimesh nodes, all running Merlin 384.13. I’d like to install .14 but I’m not sure how to properly do that now that I’m using aimesh. Do I upgrade the master then individually upgrade the nodes? Do the nodes have to be removed from the...

    Cascading router

    Won’t it be closer though?

    Cascading router

It kind of depends what role you were expecting that second router to fulfill. If you essentially just need it to be a switch then turns the firewall off

    Router upgrade?

I can only assume that at the time there was something wrong with your router or you had a misbehaving client(s). What you are describing isn’t normal for DHCP. If you’re having trouble with DHCP reservation space I guess you could assign IP addresses manually on clients that allow it. Then...
