Solved RT-AC68U Network Map Shows as Disconnected

Hello, As shown on the image, my rt-ac68u has been showing itself as being disconnected. Oddly enough, here I'm making this post. Under the Network Map/Internet Status all fields are populated as they should under a sound/stable connection. When I first noticed this taking place I was...

    IP Allocation/DHCP Server Issue

You hit it right on the nail. For such change I'd expect them to use guess-SSID-3 not the very first guess-SSID, the one most people have been using for sure. Thank you.

    IP Allocation/DHCP Server Issue

I don't see that option anywhere under the devices wifi settings. With that said, the MAC address has been very consistent. Part of the reason why I don't get what's going on lol

    IP Allocation/DHCP Server Issue

Hello Colin. So the 192.168.101.#'s are for devices on the guest SSID? Is this the expected behavior when connecting a device to a guess SSID, a random IP at 192.168.101.#? I just noticed that even the DNS IP, which are handled by the router itself, is 192.168.101.1 This is starting to look...

    IP Allocation/DHCP Server Issue

I'm experiencing a very odd behavior with my RT-AC68U. I manually assign IPs to the devices that connect to my network. One of these devices is a cellphone to which I've assigned IP 192.168.1.55 For some reason my router always grants, this cellphone, a 192.168.101.### IP. All my other devices...

Adding DNS Servers To DoT Preset Server List

I will keep the secret with much care :)

Adding DNS Servers To DoT Preset Server List

Going over the router web UI, I come to see that there is a graphical way to adding DoT servers. Could it be this easy. Time to test it out. Edit: It was that easy. Look at that. There I was all SSH-ing into the router. :)

Adding DNS Servers To DoT Preset Server List

How can I add DNS servers to the DoT preset servers list? I was able to do this under john's fork but for the looks of it things have changed much as the process I once used seem to no longer apply. Perhaps I've forgotten something but to my luck I'm unable to find some of my older posts in...

    RT-AC68U V3 Merlin Supported?

I got the router. It works great. Merlin installed flawlessly and thus far everything works great. In regards to the whole V3. On the back of the router it states: RT-AC68U MSQ-RT-AC68U V2 Amazon listing couldn't even get that right. lol but that is to be expected. ---- A couple of things...

    RT-AC68U V3 Merlin Supported?

Thank you for the information. In regards to the link I posted. As already stated, there must be some amazon redirecting based on geolocation. When I follow the link I posted it indeed takes me the expected RT-AC68U amazon listing.

    RT-AC68U V3 Merlin Supported?

This is good news. Thank you for you reply. I don't know the importance of the V3 labeling but there is indeed an ASUS user manual for it. This is right under the official ASUS listing for RT-AC68U/Support/Manual. It is the top manual listed. I must note that the difference in the manual...

    RT-AC68U V3 Merlin Supported?

Thank you @L&LD & @kernol . What I've come to understand is that the V3 has no standing in the matter. It is a RT-AC68U regardless of having a V3. .... I used to have a RT-N66U HW Ver: B1 that back in the day was fully supported by Merlin. I never had an issue with it. To the best of my...

    RT-AC68U V3 Merlin Supported?

I'm looking to buy ASUS RT-AC68U https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FB45SI4/?tag=snbforums-20 Which is quite an old router (2013) but just perfect for the purpose that will be bestowed upon it and at a good price. Going over Merlin's README, I see that RT-AC68U are still fully supported...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

It has been a long journey in catching up and trying to make sense of john9527 absence. Wherever he may be, I hope you are doing well. After hearing news on Kr00t I decided that it was time to figure out why the community keeps talking of new firmware releases by john9527, yet these are not...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

This is very nice. I was not aware of nextdns.io They have some neat features like giving you control over your own black/white listing and services. Rewrites sounds very useful. For so much control I can see them charging a fee after the beta. Value for value. The fact they support so many...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Thank you very much, Dave. This was right on point. I was able to edit, enter and successfully add the necessary information for the pi-dns servers to the DoT server list. "pi-dns EastUS",185.213.26.187,2a0d:5600:33:3::abcd,853,"dot.eastus.pi-dns.com",,,yes,yes,yes "pi-dns...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Edit: My bad. I didn't notice you were asking on regard to an unreleased firmware. DoT works fine for me on N66. I use it with 9.9.9.9 secure ips and 1.1.1.1 I also have DNSSEC enabled. DNSSEC method: dnsmsq and strict DNSSEC enforcement.

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Hello. Is there a way to add DNS resolvers at our end to the list of available DoT servers list within Johns' fork? I'm running version 39E3j9527. Basically what I'm asking is, can the list be accessed and edited via SSH? If so, what would the path to the list be? The reason I ask is because I...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

So far everything is working smoothly. Again, DNScrypt, very nice. There is a nice selection of servers & DNSSEC capable servers too. Perhaps for a feature update Cloudfares' DNS IPS can be added to the list. They have for both ipv4 & ipv6 https://1.1.1.1/ I use them on my laptop by way of...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Thank you for the information. The Journey From 380.69_2 to 32E4 374.43_32E4j9527 is live & rt-n66u doing what it does. Installation went as smooth as a techy can make it. I've never had the need to use the "ASUS firmware restoration tool" before so while I searched for the tool itself I...
