[REQ] Exclude devices for ipv6 address assignment

Hi Merlin, Would it be possible to build something to exclude devices from ipv6 address assignment? Scenario 1: For example I have 1 machine which is using p2p networking and I don't want outgoing traffic over ipv6 because then traffic can go around my ipv4 peer blockers. This is a Windows 7...

    3.0.0.4.374.130

I'm now at -38dBm and 866,5 link speed. I will keep you up to date but that will be probably this evening (CET) or saturday. Edit: 5.5 hours later it's -37/-38 dBm with a link speed of 175.5, so in this case I don't see a relation. I will check it again Saturday if the signal is dropped...

    3.0.0.4.374.130

I didn't notice it yet. But the uptime has never been over a week because of flashing firmware or experimenting with ipv6. Must say, that the latest firmwares (.130 asus and .32 merlins) seem to be more stable in my situation with wireless connections. My signal varies between 90 and 95% but...

new firmware on asus site 374.257

You can scan for new drivers for your wireless adapter on this page: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx Don't know if it resolves your issue but it gives you newer drivers then dell is providing. Did it also on my Dell M6300.

    3.0.0.4.374.130

Running for 3 days now with hw acceleration disabled and Native IPv6 with DHCP-PD. So the choice for me is IPv6 or hw acceleration. My internet connection will never reach 150Mbps so I'll leave hw acceleration off for now and test it again in later firmwares with hw acceleration enabled. Do you...

    3.0.0.4.374.130

I didn't notice changes in the data transfer speed (actual speed) ... But noticed that the linkspeed indication of my network status in Windows 7 went up after a while...

    3.0.0.4.374.130

I have the same experience with the link speed however when copying large files I've noticed that the link speed is returning to its max. Sometimes it could take 15 minutes. My link speed is mostly 175.5 and the max is 866.5 mbps. My data transfer differs between 15 and 31 mbytes/sec. and the...

    3.0.0.4.374.130

At the moment I'm clearing nvram, do a power cycle each upgrade and after that I configure the router again without restoring settings... I don't have problems with DNS although it sometimes takes a few minutes before IPv6 is actually working... I also disable the automatic lookup for DNS...

    3.0.0.4.374.130

After 1,5 day the router restarted it self:/ Edit: Going to test without hardware acceleration again to be sure that is stable.

    3.0.0.4.374.130

Running for more then a day now with ipv6 dhcp-pd and hw acceleration enabled with no sudden reboots:)... so I think the reboot issue in this case is fixed... lets see if it runs stable another day also:)

    IPv6 security

That looks promising:-) I'm now testing how stable the rt-ac66u is with the .374_130 release. Maybe later this week I can help. I've no experience in compiling the firmware so if you can do that and give me the firmware so I can test it (maybe dropbox?) . My setup is...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.372.31 is out

RMerlin, My rt-ac66u is now running more then a day with ipv6 on Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.372.31 with hardware acceleration disabled without any sudden reboots. So the issue is probably located arround the hw-acceleration. However in .270 it runs stable with hw-acceleration. I didn't notice any...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.372.31 is out

I will upgrade to your latest version, disable hw acceleration later on today and see what's happening. "Normally" the router will reboot within a day.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.372.31 is out

With .3xx firmware I also have sudden reboots when using ipv6 dhcp-pd... When using .270 or 3xx with ipv6 disabled then the router seems stable... Don't think that is a hardware issue in my case...

    ASUS RT-AC66U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.372

I've now tested with copying large files from two machines to one machine on 5Ghz over a longer period of time and the linkspeed goes back to 866.5. So this isn't an issue. I do still have issues with ipv6 dhcp-pd turned on which causes router restarts on newer firmwares.

    ASUS RT-AC66U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.372

Hmmm, do you use the ipv6 DHCP-PD option? In AP-Mode the ipv6 option in the router is disabled. I'm now testing it in router mode with ipv6 disabled and now my linkspeed also stays at 866.5. Edit: Nevermind... also with ipv6 disabled it dropped back to 175.5 after a while... the router is more...

    ASUS RT-AC66U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.372

Same issue here with the Netgear A6200 adapter when the router is in router mode, after a while the link-speed drops to 175.5... When I configure it in AP-Mode it seems much more stable and the link-speed stayed at 866.5... really strange that the operation mode is affecting this

    ASUS AC66U and Android Problem

For 2,4 don't use channels above 11. I had a similar problem when I had it configured with 40MHz bandwidth and 13u. Make sure your 40Mhz bandwidth doesn't exceed channel 11. Now running on 11u and it's running fine on a stock rom. Verstuurd van mijn Nexus 7 met Tapatalk
