...or wifi connected home network have IP addresses 192.168.1.xxx. Using a laptop I connected to the guest network index 1 and the IP is 192.168.101.xxx. If I connect it to the guest network index 2 the IP is 192.168.1.xxx. Both guest networks disable Intranet. In both cases, with Network...

...with updating and settings are retained Points noted for now. Guest network 1 (in use for Tuya stuff and only 2.4Ghz) switched to ip 192.168.101.x as expected. Client list acting strange, all Guest network 1 clients are on the Wireless Tab, All other Wifi clients that use 2.4Ghz are on de...

Solved IPv6 Native with Prefix Delegation does not provide LAN side IP addresses in any 386 Build on RT-AX56U

...Here is a summary. Asus provides 3 guest networks, which I believe is a closed source function from Asus. Guest Network 1: uses 192.168.101.x and 192.168.102.x IP range, optimized for AIMesh and does not support IPv6 (although that is not documented by Asus as such) Guest Network 2: uses...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.2 is now available

I got the exact same thing with my thermostats. I put them on my regular 2.4 GHz wifi and they got an IP in my normal network of 192.168.1.x instead of the 192.168.101.x. After that I could change the icon. I haven't moved them back to Guest1 yet.

ASUSWRT 386 new guest network IP space and DHCP static IPs

...of proper isolation with new subnets and like everyone here has mentioned, this is desired to isolate IOT devices, but what about wired devices? I would like to put my wired Raspberry Pi on the Guest (192.168.101.x) network and if possible I'll prefer to have a single subnet for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz.

Solved Guest network can access private net

...setups. From what I've read (because I don't use that router or firmware) the first guest slots of 2.4 and 5 GHz should have subnets 192.168.101.x and 192.168.102.x respectively. Maybe there's a bug that's caused because your main LAN is not using the expected 192.168.x.y configuration. Try...

Repeater connected to Guest SSID bypassing Access Intranet = Disable

...response. I think the different subnet may be the next thing I try (by using the guest profile on network index 1, defaulting into the 192.168.101.x or 192.168.102.x subnets). I hadn't tried this index with the repeater configuration as I've been really hesitant of this index because of all...

ASUS AX88U with Merlin 386.2_2 Brother WiFi printer appears offline

I've reset the WiFi multiples times and it didn't help. I tried reverting to original ASUS firmware and while it works better, still having issues with the printer appearing offline. The printer is definitely connected to the router. But in Windows it shows as offline.

ZenWifi AX Strange LAN IP addresses

is this normal to have guest net get totally different IP ranges? I noticed a few oddball things about them tonight: The 192.168.101.x guest IPs only take place in the first position guest network that is set up. The 2.4ghz uses 101, the 5-1 uses 102 and the 5-2 uses 103 When i did not know...

Need some help with my home network

I understand the newer AC68U has updated specs, but otherwise should operate the same(?). I understand that guest WLANs on AP Mode are NOT isolated from the intranet, so not useful in that regard. Asus has been introducing guest1 2.4/5.0 WLANs on AiMesh that sync to all nodes, use IPs...

    Asus AIMesh Guest network issues

...an IP address on a different subnet. My main network is 192.168.1.XX. Connecting to the 2.4GHz Guest network assigns an IP address on 192.168.101.XX, and the 5GHz Guest network gets an IP address on 192.168.102.XX. The problem is this only works if in range of the main RT-AX88U router, If...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta is now available

...I noticed that all clients that connect to a WiFi-guest network that doesn't have access to the intranet receive IP-addresses in the 192.168.101.X range, even if a specific client was assigned a fixed IP-address in the 10.x.x.x-range. Release ASUS RT-AC66U B1 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.45987

Not on RT-AC66U, but on a XT8, I've resorted to removing the 5th rule on the ebtables, broute table, BROUTING chain, making the connection from the Intranet to the guest network possible again. Show rules: ebtables -t broute -L BROUTING The 5th rule should be the one to remove. This change...

    IP Allocation/DHCP Server Issue

...One of these devices is a cellphone to which I've assigned IP 192.168.1.55 For some reason my router always grants, this cellphone, a 192.168.101.### IP. All my other devices are granted the IPs which I've manually assigned to each of them. Why could this be happening? I've look all around...
