Unable to update iPad apps through AC68U

I still have no idea what the cause of the problem actually is but ... Let's assume everything is default and your ISP isn't blocking you. The only stock setting that I can imagine might cause you any issue is the default assigned DNS servers. So assuming no changes other than entering in...

Unable to update iPad apps through AC68U

With regards to whether the router requires a reboot after changes, it shouldn't. I'm not saying it doesn't ... But from my experience, the relevant services are restarted after applying changes. Certain changes do interface with components of the router that can display unwanted or unexpected...

Unable to update iPad apps through AC68U

    With regards to the log, if you look at this one entry: May 26 16:23:58 kernel: DROP IN=ppp0 OUT= MAC= SRC=5.39.218.162 DST=124.155.254.183 LEN=40 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=244 ID=29905 PROTO=TCP SPT=40389 DPT=3389 SEQ=4104619867 ACK=0 WINDOW=1024 RES=0x00 SYN URGP=0 It just says that there was a...

    Dual WAN question

Are you sure they're WAN ports? I thought cable in, ethernet out ... Looking at the image they look like LAN ports, though going by the description they may not be configured to be part of the same segment. Sent from my MI 5 using Tapatalk

    Does AC66U-B1 support smart connect?

And in the case of the ac5300 (or any other dual 5G unit I imagine), 5G to 5G. Sent from my MI 5 using Tapatalk

    [SOLVED] Tomato shibby VLAN's forwarding

As mentioned by CaptainSTX, some VLANs are reserved for switch functionality. You have to be mindful of how you want the switch to fuction if you adjust them. If Tomato is anything like OpenWRT, you will just have to ensure there is an allowed forwarding rule (controlled by iptables) between...

Can't figure out good way to isolate router from apartment LAN

And you shouldn't if you can avoid it but the OP has no choice if they choose to host their network behind their own router in their given scenario. Sent from my MI 5 using Tapatalk

Can't figure out good way to isolate router from apartment LAN

To be fair, some of the games on their platforms operate outside of their hosted server infrastructure and any alternative solution would likely not apply to those games. Basically any game not requiring a PS plus or Xbox live subscription. Fortnite is a good example of this. Keeping double NAT...

Unable to update iPad apps through AC68U

Thanks, though I'm aware that information can be retained between specific activities and can cause problems. I'm all for cache clearing. My comment was just to point out that apparently there are issues you wouldn't think _should_ occur that can occur. If you could enlighten me on exactly why...

Unable to update iPad apps through AC68U

I've seen quite a few people mention that this can fix a variety of issues with iDevices. One person said it fixed their wireless signal strength, which is beyond my comprehension. Sent from my SM-T815Y using Tapatalk

Unable to update iPad apps through AC68U

Without more information about your set up and what you have and haven't try, there's nothing I can really suggest. With a bridged modem and stock configuration, there's no good reason for it not to work. With any luck someone else who's had a similar issue may be able to help you. Sent from...

Why have 2 sign in the icon of clients list?

Yeah, you'll get this with APs and similar. This is how my bridge shows up. Sent from my MI 5 using Tapatalk

Unable to update iPad apps through AC68U

I don't know if that log is any indication of what's going on but those IPs are all over the place. Without any more information on the router's possible configuration the only advice I can offer is make sure you are on the latest merlin firmware and ensure you're testing on a stock...

Unable to update iPad apps through AC68U

Looks like the firewall is dropping packets. I'd say that means something is classifying them and I'd be glaring at AiProtection if it's enabled, unless you have custom rules. Sent from my MI 5 using Tapatalk

Unable to update iPad apps through AC68U

Usually something to do with parental controls or dnsfilter. Relax them and test. Then you can test as you re-enable. Parental controls is usually the culprit for me because my son has an iPad, he's too young for a real OS ;) ... specific dnsfilter settings have prevented some legitimate online...

Proper VLAN configuration with a Cisco SG200

Haha yep, that's how I specified it in my initial response. Untagged = any packet going into the port that is untagged is assigned the VLAN. It's usually the first problem people have which is why I worded it carefully. Sent from my MI 5 using Tapatalk

Proper VLAN configuration with a Cisco SG200

When I said if I remember correctly, I meant I was like 98% sure :) I implemented 20 or 30 odd last year but we had them in a stacked configuration. As suggested by the poster above and myself, I did a quick search to double check and they are indeed only "layer 2". Fyi VLANing is at the...

Proper VLAN configuration with a Cisco SG200

From memory the sg200 isn't a layer 3 switch so all your VLAN routing will be done by the router. In it's simplest form you just set the ports as untagged for the port/VLANs required, ensure all the VLANs are assigned to the router port and then the rest comes down to your routing and what...

    RT-AC68U as a bridge?

I'm guessing this is the intended outcome. I get the impression they will only be there intermittently and a permanent exposed wifi connection isn't required. Sent from my MI 5 using Tapatalk

Access point mode and Guest Wireless network

Damn ... The guest wireless restrictions did dawn on me after posting ... I had my finger crossed! :D Unfortunately I doubt there's a simple way to relay DHCP. The routing method should work fine once you get everything 'just right' ;) Good luck! Sent from my MI 5 using Tapatalk
