    Longest range router?

    I was thinking a powerline adapter, I am pretty sure they are on different power tho. just trying to help a friend get internet to his yard office that is 500 ft. from the main building that has a cable connection. they can not dig with too many pipes in the ground. thanks again!

    We would like to try and get 500ft. strictly outside with no obstructions. I usually use Asus routers with Merlin software, not sure if one of the newer routers would make sense like an RT-AX58U. would just hope to make 2.4GHz connection. I have no idea if this is even worth trying...

    AC86U and 384.14_2 some wireless issues

    since going to 384.14_2 I lose wireless sometimes and have to reboot the router. always comes back after reboot. wired connections fine. this is the first time I have done a factory reset after upgrading. I left everything as default except change nameserver to 1.1.1.1

    Thank you, did the factory reset after putting the lastest Merlin software and the router works perfectly.

    ordered! arrives today. hopefully, a quick flash with Merlin works, I have always just flashed and never an issue. I think it's s called a dirty flash?

    Is the Asus Rt-ac66u B1 a decent router to recommend to friends and family that want to ditch the thing that the cable company gave them? the merlin software has worked well on my 86u.

    My install worked out well with 86U, was not seen at first on the network until I plugged my laptop into it. was then able to configure. works great with latest Merlin software.

    brand new RT-AC86U, flashed with latest Merlin RT-AC86U_384.4_0 using about 50% memory at idle? what is the correct way to do a factory default reset?

    I happen to be in Los Angeles so will call. I don't live here!! :-) made a donation to Merlin. when I install the new software just do a factory reset? has worked well for me in the past. most likely will use the latest beta.

    I wanted to use and RT-AC86U with Merlin firmware and back ordered everywhere. What would be next best choice? a small network of 10 workstations, mainly just QuickBooks and office 365. most likely add a server soon. Thanks

    Asus firmware restoration 2.0.0.0? currently running an older version of Merlin's software, I was just going to login and update the software. I am out of the country so might not be a good idea?

    can I update remotely? with teamviewer or similar? the router is RT-AC68A, I use RT-AC68U. thanks
