    Internet plan in US?

Thanks for the response, it's great to know. Now let say I limit the area down to Washington state, does anyone know the average price there? Or is it impossible to know unless the exact address is provided (which I obviously won't do because it's his personal information).

    Internet plan in US?

Hi all, Just out of curiosity, how is the Internet price in US supposed to be? My friend's plan is by Xfinity, around $60-80 per month for approximately 90-100Mbps download, 5 Mbps upload, cable connection. He isn't tech-savvy so he isn't sure about the detail of his Internet plan, so I don't...

NAS vs directly plugin drive to router.

Very detailed answer, I appreciate @Trip Can I think it as this way? NAS is basically a computer (has its own CPU, RAM, etc), however, it is specialized in storage-and-transferring stuff. Connecting a NAS to local storage, via router for example, is like connecting a computer to local storage...

NAS vs directly plugin drive to router.

Hi all, Just a quick question, what exactly are the difference between using NAS and portable drive (SSD or hard drive) for a local storage. I know that NAS will have better performance, along with storage management ability, but aside form that, is there anything else? I simply want to have...

Qualcomm, Broadcom vs MediaTek on mobile devices

They are stated as the "candidates" of my post. I'm actually trying to compare between the chipset themselves.

Qualcomm, Broadcom vs MediaTek on mobile devices

I know, that's why I only care about the on-paper specs. In case of choosing products, I will for sure prioritize QC, but still, I wonder how it will compare to another brand "on-paper".

Qualcomm, Broadcom vs MediaTek on mobile devices

Hi folks, In term of on-paper specs, which brand provide the most features/spec on their respective flagship mobile-wireless chip? This includes 5G, wifi, Bluetooth specs. I don't care if they are practical or not, and I also don't plan to buy new devices anytime soon. I'm simply curious of...

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.75.1SF & v. 1.0.2.75.2SF

Sorry because of that, but since I'm not that technical so I can't provide a precise bug report. What I can say now is, my IPv6 was working normally on 74.4, then it stops working on 75.2. Maybe someone else has the same problem like me can have a comment on it. As of now, I will revert back to...

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.75.1SF & v. 1.0.2.75.2SF

I've just updated from 74.4 to 75.2 and It seems like IPv6 still doesn't work in 75.2.

A straight answer about seamless handoffs please.

I'm not so sure, but should be around 700-900 sqft per floor. It's really expensive to buy land in Vietnam, so people always try to build floors instead to increase living area.

A straight answer about seamless handoffs please.

Yeah, I actually missed that. But still, I don't consider 3 floor (basement, ground, 1 upper floor) multi-story, although it technically is. Since we know little to nothing about OP's structure, let's assume it is the worst case here. At least 4 floors (1 basement + ground + 2 upper floors...

A straight answer about seamless handoffs please.

Based on what the OP described, I believe OP's property is multi-story. None single router/AP is applicable in this case. That said, I believe a simple network setup can reduce the recover time to <5 seconds (Router with multiple APs, even with different SSID, non .k .v), at least in my experience.

    Wireless Bridge Recommendations

Maybe I'm wrong, but my non-technical opinion is tri-band products have no difference in term of dBi, voltage, etc compared to the other. To its base, they should have the same implementation because it's based on radio chip itself. But still, they can have different electrical configuration to...

    Possible TP-Link Budget Upgrade

I've never had used C7 V2 so I'm not sure, but theoretically, C2300 should be better. At least it is way better than my C1200.

    Possible TP-Link Budget Upgrade

Hmm, your house is about 17 x 17 meters, so only 1 Archer C2300 can cover it perfectly, given that it is put in good location and your house structure doesn't block signal that much. You should be able to use most if not all of your 500/500 plan on 5Ghz too. It can goes down to $89.99 if you can...

    Wireless repeater

IMO, with your current router, little to none of extenders can maintain decent connection. Any kind of invesment to a new extender would be a waste. I think you should consider upgrade your router and get new extender at the same time. Or buying 2 extenders, with one works as access point in...

When should we consider wifi 6 devices?

When is the expected time for commercial devices (laptops, phones, wifi card, etc) fully support wifi 6 features (final draft)? Since this information is rarely disclosed, I can't find anything about it.

Need advice for AP or wifi Router

You may want to consider RE9000 or EX7500 as extenders. They are pretty sweet deal in BF

    Linksys EA9500 to Asus GT-AX11000?

I think you better wait at this point. This is not a time to go for AX devices since none of them are based on final draft. However, if you really need to upgrade, then do it.

Stupid question can one single router cover a 1900 sq ft house by itself ?

I agree, but my R7800 performance significantly drop performance when Guest network is enabled. This is the only flaw I experience in this router sample. Still, I used C2300 as the main router instead since it has better overall local network performance. That is for sure, so no one can have an...
