    Thanks again everyone for the help. I have decided I will be upgrading my computer soon to the z170/skylake combo relatively soon so I will rerun all the steps posted here when I do so and resurrect this thread as necessary.

    Again, I apologize for the delay in response. I'm on vacation this week so i'm not around too much... Anyways, I followed both sets of instructions exactly, found all the settings, correctly set them, and still will not wake over my network. Anything else I can try?

    Sorry for delay in response. My motherboard is pretty old (ASUS p6x58d-e) and I believe I did turn on the appropriate settings in BIOS. As for network card settings, magic packet WOL is enabled and I added my pc to the list on my router's admin panel for WOL. I'm running windows 8.1 pro. I did...

    Thanks for the reply, I'll search around but if anyone has a link it would be much appreciated! Alternatively, is there another brand router that can perform this easier? Or would it be easier to subscribe to a service like dyndns?
