    RT-AC68U - Video streaming fails in after some minutes in my Home theater

    Are you wired or wifi? I am wired. I have a WDTV box that has been locking up on me for the past 3 weeks with the 9135 fw and still with the 9313. Did a factory reset but cant tell if its the WDTV box or the asus FW. The box totally locks and I have to cycle power.

    Have you tried bringing one of the repeaters closer to the 87u and setup? The 5ghz has been problematic on these you may be just far enough causing you an issue to get it set up.

At home I have an 87u (9177) and a 66u repeater (9135) repeater connected fine. I have nothing plugged into the USB ports which can cause issues updating FW maybe...

    Flashing routers over wifi

    I have done it both ways with no problem. Even if you did sh!t the bed doing it through WiFi you can still put it into rescue mode and fix it.

    Wow if it wasn't for the Betas supplied on here I would think the 66u was not being supported any longer. Almost 5 months no word on the site probably has many thinking this router is no longer supported.

    Make sure no USB's are plugged in (did that 2x). I had an air card on mine and wouldn't change the FW when I did an update. I was pulling my hair out.

    (SOLVED) RT-AC68U disconnects phone but not laptop

    Try setting to 11 and see if you still have an issue. If you are near other houses 6 is the default and lots of saturation. Cable company hot spots many use 1 so you could have saturation. Make sure to forget network on the phone to clear any settings stored and see if you have a better go of it.

    remove any USB devices connected to the router and flash firmware again. Several people on here have had same issue.

    Problem only with 5 ghz? Are you only repeating the 5 ghz? Usually it allows it to repeat both 2.4 and 5 ghz at same time.

    Personal AC87 saga

    Just a thought. I have only ever propped these up with plastic items. Do you think the metal or coils in a Hard drive could be causing an issue. Id think it would act like a reflector or mess with the wave form somehow.

    I as many others have gotten into the habit of a double reset. I flash it and go in make sure settings are gone and reset again. Then add back my settings. May even add a wps reset as well as to really what harm can it do. Make sure to remove usb devices. I have a usb aircard i can upgrade...

    I can tell you if you have anything plugged in on the USB when you try to update firmware it will never take. I had it happen with an aircard plugged in the FW stayed at the original level even same with merlin's. Made me pull my hair out till I unplugged the card.

    If you are on Firmware version 3.0.0.4.378.5134 do you still have to do a hard reset? it mentions if you you were on build 5556 that you didn't.

    Having to hard reset every other update and setup from scratch is a killer. Ughhh just venting.
