ASUS RT-AC87 Firmware - Official Releases

This one is for the users repeating. I have the 87u as the main and a 66u as a repeater. I have family that lives next door and the repeater is there. I decided to add a guest networks specifically for next door. The repeater DOESN'T repeat your guest networks so next door the signal was...

ASUS RT-AC87 Firmware - Official Releases

When you look at the 66u gui it show the connection speed to the 87u. Im guessing that's only showing the 2.4 ghz speed but that where I see the speed has dropped off.

ASUS RT-AC87 Firmware - Official Releases

Have the 87 as the main router and a 66u as a repeater. Noticed that speed is less on the repeater after the update. Yes I did do reset. Use to run 144 meg now is like 75 meg bummer on that.

ASUS RT-AC87 Firmware - Official Releases

I do the same but talk about adding confusion to the r/u debate. I was more wondering if they were trying to test 2 different fw's at same time.

ASUS RT-AC87 Firmware - Official Releases

Ok on both my 87u's they have 66u repeaters attached. I upgraded the two 66u's at work and now my 87u signature is 1.032 I'll have to check the home one and see if its the same. So for some may be an issue when a repeater is attached????

ASUS RT-AC87 Firmware - Official Releases

I have mine turned on and I tried it and didn't block 1 malicious site. They kept popping up. Not sure if this has been broken for the past couple of updates or they just are not blocking the sites I have had pop up.

    RT-AC66U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.376.3626

Deleting or forgetting the connection would do the same thing? I mean for simplicity of not having to reset up 50 devices to access your network again. Just to test if that's the issue. How much info is saved in the network connection on a device? I though just the name, what security...

    RT-AC66U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.376.3626

Yes on reset and setup. No on SSID change. Why SSID change? I did a little more testing. I always test with same device in same place for consistency. Closer to wireless the speeds are fine this further reading is degraded. So seems like the latest fw degraded the signal a bit.

    RT-AC66U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.376.3626

Firmware 3626 runs slower than 2524 through wireless. I updated today and prior to update I was getting 20m down 20m up now I get 14m down and 5m up.

ASUS RT-AC87 Firmware - Official Releases

I'm wondering if some problem is coming from the heat issue people have be mentioning. Pulling power for 5 minutes causes a component to cool down which is misbehaving and things go stable. As long as it stays hot so does the issue. Wouldn't be the first time I seen that happen.

    User NVRAM Save/Restore Utility (R26.2)

That was good someone else was having an issue like I did I didn't get a chance to test it as I was sick as hell after my post. Don't know why I didn't think to try using the full path to the file but makes sense.

    User NVRAM Save/Restore Utility (R26.2)

I didn't copy it off but will check it when I get home. I was using Putty to access the router but that shouldn't be an issue.

I ran the backup and it created the file. When I went to restore I ran the file nvram-restore-20141127-5AD7.sh it told me file not found. I even copied the files name and pasted and same issue. Any ideas?
