    AC5300 and GT-ax11000 Firmware compatibility

    https://translate.google.com/?sl=es&tl=en&op=translate: My guess would be no. https://www.asuswrt-merlin.net/download The GT-AX11000 has a beta version with SHA256 = a0d9e8d2a67cd3a77d94b287c521c5118d536d6c78ef8776d778fb3ca9f02e7d GT-AX11000_386.2_beta2_cferom_ubi.w The AC5300 has a beta...

FlexQoS FlexQoS 1.2.4 - Flexible QoS Enhancement Script for Adaptive QoS

After installing FlexQoS 1.2.3 via the GUI and rebooting the router AC86U, The FlexQoS Tab has indeed moved, though I am missing the version number (1.2.3) on the GUI and don't currently have the command button to check for update: BIG EDIT: Nevermind, I see that the feature to see version...

AC86U AsusWRT fallback released versions? 386_41634 vs 386_40451 (by naming numbered versioning)

I do seem to recall that there was an slightly earlier version that came out right before the latest Version 9.0.0.4.386.41994 Beta, that was to mitigate the most recent DNSpooq vulnerability. The version you are referring to: Version 3.0.0.4.386.40451 2020/10/22 came out in October, so what...

Is it safe/secure to install a executable from a source that may not be adequately vetted?

Is it safe/secure to install a executable from a source that may not be "thoroughly" vetted? I have heard from a reputable security source in the past, that using "curl" to install software is a iffy security issue. Have to implicitly trust the source. I have little concern to "curl" from...

Voxel To unregistered readers of SNB forums

It is a bit worrisome though, that people/entities who do largely thankless jobs, yet who provide a critical underlying component to our modern information infrastructure can one day, just throw in the towel (no more updates or maintenance); or even worse, get an offer to buy their...

security of asus vs cisco rv260 vs netgate sg1100 under $200

When I bought my Netgate SG1100. it shipped with an early version of pfSense 2.4 I think. HW based crypto was disabled/not enablable. The latest version is 21.02. It offers... "HW crypto function which uses intellectual property licensed from SafeXcel on the Marvell Armada 3720 SoC." So if...

Solved Ublock Origin: Weird custom Filter entries?

Nice to know that someone else had these particular block lists in their custom filter list. Must have been legacy/forgotten lists that uBlock Origin originally installed/enabled, perhaps? Hope so!

Solved Ublock Origin: Weird custom Filter entries?

When I go to the Ublock Origin extension on my various desktop/laptop windows computers/browsers; I noticed that on 2 of those computers, when I click on the [Settings] cog then [Filter lists] scroll down the list to [+Custom]; I see 2 custom entries I don't recall (my memory is bad anyway)...

    NTP not sync in RT68U

@ColinTaylor Is it possible that the ntpd daemon isn't starting on his router? Where would the ntpd initialize? is there a way to manually type in the initialization string into an appropriate start up file?

Trend Micro: Signature version almost 1 year old

So >> "2.220 Updated : 2020/05/04 14:02" << has 2 components. The actual signature file version and a date/time. Both components are being provided by two sources, TrendMicro and (I'm guessing here) likely the router? My router RT-AC68U has about a 32 second window before the default clock...

    NTP not sync in RT68U

I ONLY use Merlin. It is well made and has additional features. And has a lot of support by many members of snbforums.

    NTP not sync in RT68U

Yes, unfortunately, date will likely go back to May 2018. Still gotta figure out why router doesn't do this on it's own. My router did the same thing, I fixed it accidently 1 1/2 years ago, and don't remember how I fixed it. (I might have taken a BIGGER hammer to it << Don't do that ;) )

    NTP not sync in RT68U

include the HH and the MM /tmp/home/root# date 0316HHMM2021 << you want this information to be as accurate as possible when you did >> /tmp/home/root# date 03162021 You set the Month 03, the Day 16, the Hour 20, the Minute 21, and did NOT set the YYYY so, the year stays 2018.... Do something...

    NTP not sync in RT68U

This will not solve your problem BUT it will help you set up correct time each time your reboot: In a SSH session type "date MMDDHHMMYYYY". << (Replace the capital letters with numbers, i.e. MM = 03 for March; DD = 16 for 16th day of month, etc.) This will update your router clock... at...

Trend Micro: Signature version almost 1 year old

If you SSH into the router just try "date" at the CLI. See if the date is the current date. If not, your router is NOT updating to the current date from it's default date. You have helped me before, Dave14305, about 1 1/2 years ago with this very issue when I first joined the forum. If it is...

Trend Micro: Signature version almost 1 year old

What date do you see in [System Log] >> [General Log] >> [System Info] >> [System Time]? ADD: If you don't see today's date (probably see 2020/05/04--depending on when you last rebooted), then when Trendmicro does it's periodic update(s) and you see "2.220 Updated : 2020/05/04 14:02" that mean...

Trend Micro: Signature version almost 1 year old

Maybe the issue is that the router time is not updating. Maybe NTP isn't working? If that's the case maybe 2020/05/04 is the Routers default time after reboot? It's interesting to me that the default date for the RT-AC68U I have is 2018/05/04, exactly 2 years apart. EDIT: I wonder, when...

    NTP not sync in RT68U

Well, guess what, I had vaguely remembered that my own router, the 68U, 1 1/2 years ago was failing to establish a DoT connection. The realization was that the NTP was not updating the routers clock ( the router time was 14 months old)... Still trying to figure out/reviewing the thread as to...

    NTP not sync in RT68U

ColinTaylor is correct. My 68U has a default date of May 4 then resets the correct date and time within a very short time. My impression was that your router time NEVER reset from the default May 5 date to the current date. The June 6 date I saw in your prior post, I interpreted as a time...
