Hello,
Did anyone notice that RT-AC86U AsusWRT released firmware version 386_41634 no longer found at Asus support side but maybe replaced by this 386__40451 version?

I downloaded 386_41634 before and installed on my RT-AC86U around Feb 2x 2021. When I came back to Asus Support, it was no longer available as now shown 386_40451 version.

By looking the naming number of the firmwares, it looks like they fell back to earlier version shown now available with 386_40451 earlier than 386_41634 (not shown at Asus Support site).

Anyone applied 386_40451 and what's experience rather than 386_41634 (my AC86U as AiMesh Node is relatively stable as being configured as AiMesh Node while AiMesh Router is AX86U).

Thank you for everyone's input/response!

I do seem to recall that there was an slightly earlier version that came out right before the latest Version 9.0.0.4.386.41994 Beta, that was to mitigate the most recent DNSpooq vulnerability.

The version you are referring to:
Version 3.0.0.4.386.40451 2020/10/22
came out in October, so what they likely did was merely withdraw the firmware version 386_41634 and actually not replaced it.

So that would then beg the question why did they pull it?

If you are experiencing no issues, perhaps they have received lots of calls/contacts from other users who have upgraded their firmware and have experienced similar enough issues to warrant the pulling of that version?

Or, most likely, since the BETA came out shortly after your version 41634, The BETA had all the features of your version with the additional DNSpooq mitigation; they had NO COMPLAINTS of this BETA version breaking anything so why keep both when the BETA is better (or pardon the pun Mo' Beta!)? << Just a guess.

You haven't given any reason to figure out your little puzzle. I would install the current released firmware and move on.

9.0.0.4.386.41994 is the firmware version you should be running. Still listed on the US and AU Asus sites. Fixes several issues and does not kill your router.

I was trying to figure out whether I used the right firmware or the degraded fw of AC86U...I have no problem with current existing 386_41634... it's kinda stable but I wanted to ensure the right firmware to use so that came up the question!

Released beta 9.0.0.4.386.41994 is as right as it gets for now. Includes the CPU wait state for a touch cooler CPU temp.
