High DATA RECEIVED on multiple devices

I appreciate your time. I'll update if I ever figure out what happened.

High DATA RECEIVED on multiple devices

So the activity monitor showed greater than 50MB/s in "data received/sec" and this occurred for over 30 minutes. I wish I had the original screenshot. It showed over 300GB in "data received" for just one of the 4 machines. There was NO corresponding entry in processes that even came close to...

High DATA RECEIVED on multiple devices

Initially, I went to each machine individually without screen sharing - so it is not related to that.

High DATA RECEIVED on multiple devices

Yes, I have attached from one machine - you can see it downloading at 12.3MB/s and the other one partially hidden is over 20MB/s. Both were at 50+MB/s for some time. I'm currently using eero - so not bandwidth monitoring. Thinking of switching over to untangle or something like that. I have...

High DATA RECEIVED on multiple devices

Yes I have iCloud enabled on 1 mac but not the other and that does not explain the two synology NAS having same problem. I don't about eero monitoring service but it happened before I started using eero plus and then happened after as well. So don't think it related to that. I'll call eero...

High "data received" on multiple LAN devices

I am not sure where to start - I apologize. Today my Tivo was running very slow with TV lagging. I check my 2 mac minis and my 2 synology NAS and they were ALL receiving data at an extremely high rate - over 50MB/s each Mac mini and over 15MB/s synology NAS. All 4 are connected to the same...

I check my 2 mac minis and my 2 synology NAS and they were ALL receiving data at an extremely high rate - over 50MB/s each Mac mini and over 15MB/s synology NAS. I have little snitch running on one...

    Mobo NIC not operating correctly

Yes - tried 3 different cables and 2 switches. Same results. Is it possible that the lan port on mobo is defective but still allows 10-100Mbps while not allowing 1.0Gbps? Seems strange if that is the case.

    Mobo NIC not operating correctly

I have been having an issue with LAN port on Asus mobo. Running Win10. For 9 months, I have had the network set to auto link which resulted in 1.0Gbps link and everything worked properly However, I had network connection issues yesterday. The computer would not connect to my home network...

    Proper firmware upgrade procedure

Can someone detail the recommended firmware upgrade procedure for Asus RT-AC68? I'm currently at 380.58 and want to upgrade to Merlin's latest 380.63. (this is more than 3 releases) I read: NOTE: resetting to factory default after flashing is strongly recommended for the following cases: -...

    2 gateways on 1 network

I have 2 internet connections on same network, each with their own gateway 10.0.0.1 and 10.0.0.5. I can manually enter the gateway on most devices thereby using that specific internet connection. However, some devices do not allow me to enter the gateway and therefore that device defaults to...

    QoS problems

ASAT - thank you. I'm not sure I have the knowledge to use the script. Is anyone using the ASUS QoS with older version of Merlin? Maybe I should downgrade?

Client Lists will not save in QoS Bandwidth Limiter (sporadic issue)

Scott, He has the Ubiquiti Edgerouter Lite 3port router (less than $100) and the Unifi AC LR access points (about $108 each). I ordered that router and two of the access points last night. I know the setup/configuration will be more complicated than the Asus. I'll try to post how it goes when...

Client Lists will not save in QoS Bandwidth Limiter (sporadic issue)

Scott - I was able to repopulate my list using chrome not safari (I saw where tried different browser). However, even though I have the rules in place, they are not being enforced. I setup son's xbox to have 3.5 Mb/s max download; however, today he went to download large update and it maxed out...

    QoS problems

I have had difficulty searching for solution as QoS is too short and returns search error. I have RT-AC68 running Merlin 380.57 The QoS function seems to work intermittently at best. Recently setup bandwidth limiter with xbox to get 3Mb/s down and 1Mb/s up. My son went to download a game today...

Client Lists will not save in QoS Bandwidth Limiter (sporadic issue)

Scott - Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I have been using build 380.57 with RT-AC68 since its release with no problems until today. Today, I wanted to enable a machine to use full bandwidth so I unchecked the box that enforces the limits. After that, ALL the machines that I had...

    device to throttle bandwidth

Thank you all for the help. Researching the recommendations now. I did update to Merlin build 378.56_2 which added ability to limit bandwidth but that does not seem to work. I set the xbox one to 5 Mb/s down and 2 up. But when we had a large game update of 20GB the limit did not work. It went...

    device to throttle bandwidth

So I upgraded to most recent Merlin firmware and there is now an option to limit bandwidth for IP address. So far this seems to work with +/- 10% variation.
