[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.20308 for All Supported Products

WARNING MESSAGE: CONFLICTING IP It happens every day at least once that I get a warning from my ESET anti virus tool that I have two devices connected with the same IP. It is always my NODE which is causing this warning message, in my case 192.168.0.2. I have hard-wired my NODE, the setting of...

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.20308 for All Supported Products

Indeed. It is rather clear that the current public release is not yet ready. By publishing intermediate beta-releases to testers only it takes away the ground for complaining about Asus, which I see often on this forum. If you agree to use beta-firmware you also agree to only talk about issues...

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.20308 for All Supported Products

I have been managing beta-tests all my working life. I would have been extremely happy with so many beta- testers, joined in a forum like this. For Asus it is a golden opportunity to release beta firmware in this forum (so no official firmware) and ask testers to report any issue. Of course...

Asus RT-AC87U vs RT-AC88U wireless distance

It has not much to do with an extra 2 meters. Due to shadowing and shielding the RF-signal drops dramatically when you move another meter. This can be caused by a concrete wall. Another reason can be interference from other WiFi-sources. You will not have a better reception with the 88. Better...

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.20308 for All Supported Products

Most likely KRACK vulnerabilities are solved. In another thread I read that the servers are being synchronized at the moment, so new firmware will become available within 24 hours.

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.20308 for All Supported Products

I used the firmware upgrade function of the GUI (for the first time ever, I always did it manually) and both router and node are on 20308. Simple and smooth!

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.10007 for All Supported Products

When setting up the Mesh you have to place both AC68U very close to eachother. When done, than you can move the devices to their final place.

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.10007 for All Supported Products

It works by me. The MAC-address of the NODE is in the DHCP list of the ROUTER and so get the assigned IP-address. I did this before I created a mesh system (but you can always enter the mac-address and required IP-address manually in your routers' DHCP list).

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.10007 for All Supported Products

Thanks for the answer. I have the switch set to Ethernet, so that is ok. Well, than version 10007 seems missing the node once in a while. Yesterday I had to cycle the power for the node to get it in the mesh, today it went automatically. Clarification: I switch both Asus AC68U and the Engenius...

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.10007 for All Supported Products

QUESTION: Can I use a switch in the Ethernet backhaul between the MAIN unit and the NODE? I have that situation here in my house (even 2 switches in between) and notice that my NODE is not always connected in the Mesh system. I am wondering if the switch has anything to do with it or that it...

    ASUS Makes AiMesh Official

It does support wired backhaul. I use it that way.

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.10007 for All Supported Products

I have upgraded the firmware to 384 10007 on both master (main) and slave (node). Both are AC68U. It would be very nice if the upgrade process, when you have the same router models for master and slave(s), could be automated so that all routers in the mesh-system are upgraded in a single process...

[Official Beta] AiMesh beta firmware for RT-AC68U/RT-AC86U/RT-AC5300/RT-AC88U

Just installed version 19612 on both my AC68U after having started with the november version. Upgraded both Router and Node by the Admin-tool in de GUI: went smoothly. So far it is working very, very good. I can listen to an internet radio station without any interruption when I walk from one...

New Rt-AC68u driving crazy, no internet

Flashing new firmware in the router won't help you solving the issue. How is your equipment looking? Do you have a modem, delivered by your ISP? Is that also a router or just a "naked" modem, not having DNS capabilities on board? If you have a modem (so no router functionality on board) than...

Erik, I and some relatives are happy users of one of the forks (HGG) of your firmware. Thanks for all the time you spend on this. But life is more than coding!! Happy New Year!
