    Questions About SkyNet and Blocking

Well I can give you an example. A game he is playing connects to servers on port 28960, and a few others close to it. I see a ton of those in that list I mentioned. I know he has complained of the performance of the game at times, but I just assumed it was bad servers because it isn't...

    Questions About SkyNet and Blocking

Since we are on the subject, I have another related question. My son plays XBOX and PC Games, as shocking as that might be, and when I look at the skynet stats I see inbound blocked ports that are clearly for the game he is playing. In this case, it is an online multiplayer game that he...

    Questions About SkyNet and Blocking

I am somewhat new to skynet, so please forgive me if I ask a dumb question. I upgraded my router OS several months back now and followed some advice here to replace my old functionality, and skynet was one of them. I notice on a somewhat regular basis that I get websites that will not load...

    Strange Connection Issue

I seem to be getting inconsistent answers to that question on different computers. On one computer in a browser, after clearing the cache and skynet running, it doesn;t work. On another computer even when I clear the cache it still works. I did not clear browsing history, but I did clear the...

    Strange Connection Issue

Anyone have any idea why sky net would be blocking? I was able to dig the blocks out of the skynet log.

    Strange Connection Issue

Quick update.... Just for kicks, I disabled skynet and tried to get to the site. It worked in all of my browsers. I restarted skynet and now it is still working in all different browsers. This is very strange.... On different computers, its the same story. It doesn't work until I disable...

    Strange Connection Issue

I am running a 68U with firmware 384.8_2. I recently noticed an issue that I cannot figure out. Comcast is my internet provider so I have their device outside of my Asus and I am forwarding the ports I need to my Asus, and then from Asus internal for the bare minimum. I have skynet running on...

    Problem With Management via WAN

The “Client will use vpn to access” setting set to Both made my Open VPN work. I did change the VPN subnet also. I would like to get the pptp vpn working so I could manage my router from any machine without installing software. I looked at it for a bit but wasn't able to get it to work. I...

    Problem With Management via WAN

Yeh I hear you. I'm just used to being able to connect to it from anywhere that has a browser. I suppose the phone is a backup plan.

    Problem With Management via WAN

Thanks. I just opened a new ssh session after several minutes and when I launch skynet, I am not getting the red. So I need to figure out what that setting does and how I should have it set. I also need to find out if I can connect to open vpn without installing a client.

    Problem With Management via WAN

Ok. Skynet always shows those 3 red failed messages now. I can't get it to stop. I told it to disable again so I could do this last yest. I set that setting to Both and it works now. Not sure I understand that that does...I just want to be able to connect remotely to manage the device...

    Problem With Management via WAN

Just for kicks, I did another test.. I changed the vpn address space to 10.10.10.0 and my LAN address space is still a 192.168.x. I also disabled skynet again. Not sure if it was back on or not, but I did the disable command. Anyway, I tethered my laptop to my phone so I was outside my...

    Problem With Management via WAN

I did the temp disable on skynet. No change. I noticed that now on skynet when I do anything, I get red [failed] messages at the top for things like cron job and ipsets. Is this normal? Do I need to do anything to turn skynet back on? I did a couple "restart skynet" but those always show...

    Problem With Management via WAN

My LAN IP range and VPN IP range have a different 3rd octet, eg my example of 192.168.0.x vs 192.168.1.x. For testing, I took my phone off wifi, connected to the vpn, and then tried to hit the UI in a browser. It always fails, but both my phone and Asus say the vpn is established.

    Problem With Management via WAN

I am not familiar with OpenVPN. Does it require that you use the open vpn client or can you just configure any native vpn to connect to it? Also, in the setup I chose Internet because I want to be able to go from an internet machine and manage my firewall. Is that the correct setting? I was...

    Problem With Management via WAN

Nevermind. I think I see what you mean. I am looking thru the exported config now. I am guessing that its using a self-signed certificate. That's ok, but if thats the case, it may restrict where you can access it from because some devices won't allow self-signed certs for encryption and you...

    Problem With Management via WAN

So are you saying that this thing will generate its own certs/keys and I do not have to insert my own certs?

    Problem With Management via WAN

So are you saying that you do not need to put anything in the certificate part? How would that establish an encrypted tunnel if you do not have a cert?
