Weird DNS problem (RT-AC68U running 380.59)

Whoops. Of course once I post an update, the problem comes back that night. :( Ugh. Back to trying different settings again.

Weird DNS problem (RT-AC68U running 380.59)

It looks like 380.61 resolved this problem or at least made it infrequent enough that I don't notice it anymore. I updated last week and so far, I haven't seen the problem again.

Traffic Analyzer isn't working properly since update to 380.59?

Update: I played with various settings but nothing seem to resolve the issue. But it looks like this problem was fixed in 380.61. I updated last week and all of the traffic logs are now back to normal.

Traffic Analyzer isn't working properly since update to 380.59?

It's currently set to "Enabled (CTF only)" only. I'll try playing with different settings to see if that affects anything. Edit: Perhaps the QoS setting was the issue? Lemme try changing QoS from adaptive to traditional.

Traffic Analyzer isn't working properly since update to 380.59?

    K. I was just looking at the various tabs and noticed those weird spikes. There's a similar spike on the 5Ghz wireless tab. Regardless, the bandwidth counter has been broken since I updated to 380.59. Yesterday, it recorded 63GB in WAN uploads, which again, is impossible with a 1Mbit/sec ADSL2+...

Traffic Analyzer isn't working properly since update to 380.59?

I was looking through the data a bit more and it appears that for some reason, the router thinks that periodically there are huge bursts of uplink data. Here's the graph from the 24-hour graph. As mentioned in the OP, I have a 1MBit/sec uplink so it isn't possible to upload that much data (if...

Traffic Analyzer isn't working properly since update to 380.59?

I recently updated to 380.59 (from 376.49) and I noticed that the Traffic Analyzer is behaving oddly. It appears to be overcounting my uplink bandwidth. For example, this is what it's showing for Thursday. 2016-07-07 85.19 GB 83.84 GB 169.02 GB 83GB upload isn't possible since I'm on a 1Mbit...

Weird DNS problem (RT-AC68U running 380.59)

I'm using single WAN and unfortunately the factory reset didn't help. I'm still getting these weird DNS failures a couple of times a day. I'm going to try scheduling a reboot every day at 6:00AM to see if that helps.

Weird DNS problem (RT-AC68U running 380.59)

I was afraid of that. I'll give it a go this weekend when I have some free time. If that fails, is there a way to schedule a DNS toggle (from ISP to custom or vice versa) every hour? Does firmware support cron jobs? That would be a ugly band-aid but less annoying than the lost connectivity...

Weird DNS problem (RT-AC68U running 380.59)

Thanks to all for the tips for updating my RT-AC68U from a very old build. But unfortunately, the problem that I was trying to fix didn't go away. Every few hours, it appears that the DNS on the router goes down. Connectivity is lost and remains this way for around 10 minutes. I don't see...

Upgrade from older 3.76.49_5 build to latest 380.59 build?

I've been having weird DNS problems lately. A few times a day, DNS would disappear and come back ~10 minutes later. Or I could resolve the issue by switching from the ISP's DNS to custom DNS or rebooting the router. I wasn't sure what changed in my network to cause this but I figured running...

Upgrade from older 3.76.49_5 build to latest 380.59 build?

Hello, Sorry if this has been covered a lot already. I tried searching on this subject but I wasn't able to find anything useful. I'm running a RT-AC68U with an older 3.76.49_5 build and I wanted to update to the latest build. But I recall there was some issue with a larger boot partition with...

    Odd port forwarding problem?

That option doesn't appear in WAN but I found "Enable WAN down browser redirect notice" in "Administration > System" so I set it to "No" and I'll keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for the tip!

    Odd port forwarding problem?

I just disabled UPnP so let's see if that affects the problem or not. Why is that port forward rule marked "PREROUTING"? Where is that triggered or controlled? Thanks.

    Odd port forwarding problem?

Hi. My current setup is a RT-AC68U running Merlin 376.49_5. My router had been running fine for a few months now but in the last few weeks, a very strange port forwarding problem has cropped up. Every 24 hours or so, all website requests are pointed back towards the router login page. After...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Hi. Sorry if this is a newbie question. I'm running 376.48 right now on my AC68U but was curious about increasing TX power so I was thinking about downgrading to 374.43. Is there a quick reference on the differences between the two releases in terms of missing/upgraded features? Do I need to...

    SMB/CIFS limit?

Awesome. Adding those options to the mount command resolved the issue. Since the same volume mounted OK on my old WRT router without those switches, I didn't think to check for a Samba bug. I thought it might have been an Asus or Merlin issue. Thanks for the link!

    SMB/CIFS limit?

Hi, Is there a size limit to SMB/CIFS support? I mounted a 28TB volume to /cifs1 but when I tried to access the volume in a SSH session, I got this error: ls: can't open '.': Value too large for defined data type

    Traffic Monitor broken? [EDIT: Resolved]

Sorry but I guess I made a newbie mistake. I went ahead and enabled QoS and now the Traffic Monitor seems to work correctly. Thanks! -----Original Message----- Just upgraded to an RT-AC68U and flashed 376.48_1 on it. Aside from not being able to set TX power, I'm generally happy...
