    RT-AC3200: latest firmware?

For a while, 3200 firmware was also under the AC5300's firmware. Perhaps Asus has hired a trained monkey to do their firmware uploads and he's still working out the bugs, lol. (To anyone who reads this, please do not try flashing 3200 firmware onto a different router. Only bad things could ever...

    ASUS RT-AC5300

My 5300 is still going strong on firmware 753. Not a single problem. Even dhcp on my media extender is still working 12 days in. This thing is a beast. Never ever have I had a home router of any brand behave so well, and I've been searching for this since I first got broadband back in 2001. My...

    ASUS RT-AC5300

Did you try connecting your Nestcam to the guest network? That's one way of bypassing Smart Connect. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

[RT-AC68U] Can't connect to certain websites (USB 4G Dongle)

Watch out with IPV6 firewall off. There is no NAT on IPV6 to offer even a modicum of protection! You may already be infected... Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

DHCP not working from ASUS router through ASUS bridge

Been running for a week with the 5300 on .753 and AC68U on .1031 in media extender mode. No DHCP issues. This has NEVER worked this long for me, so maybe the issue has been fixed, deliberately or incidentally. If you decide to buy a 5300, please don't feed the scalpers. It should be $399 (USA...

    ASUS RT-AC5300

Oh, yeah. That headset isn't the only recent device that steps all over wifi bands. Does the ASTRO allow you to force a channel? Some devices actually tend to follow the router's frequency, like purposely trying to make trouble. If you must use the headset, use the lower band for anything near...

    ASUS RT-AC5300

Stay away from Smart Connect: you are way smarter than your new router at knowing which device should connect to which band. Also, auto QoS is wonky. Don't turn it on. I quickly glanced over the thread and someone is apparently having 5GHz band 2 problems? I have all my signal settings at their...

    RT-AC3100 & BufferBloat

Automatic is a bit screwy. At least it was when I had it on for 10 minutes. Best to set your own. At 100% of my paid for and tested bandwidths for QoS, my grades are A-A-A. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

    RT-AC88U

I've had good luck (so far...) using AC68 on firmware 1031 as a media bridge to my 5300. In fact, I'm kind of in disbelief that it's still working, lol. Used to have problems daily. Also, my connect rate is stellar 1300/1300! Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

    Asus RT-AC68U 5Ghz Problem

I put mine in a cupboard with rear vents, lol. That's the only way I know to fix it. Or perhaps mask the sound with a cooling fan...sorry. If you're annoyed by it too much, the higher routers such as 3200 and 5300 haven't exhibited this issue, but maybe someone else has had it on those, too...

    ASUS RT-AC5300

My 5300 has been in service for a couple of days now using stock 753 firmware (same one @RMerlin posted on his MediaFire site). This router is the best experience I've had yet with a home router. I was able to shut down my extra AP that was necessary for my RT-AC3200 to reach all corners of my...

    Asus RT-AC68U 5Ghz Problem

@bjam Coil noise is common on the 68U, at least it was on the older units. What H/W Rev is your new unit, btw? Rev B1 is newer with faster CPU and might not have the issue. I own a Netgear R7000v1 (RT-AC68U's cousin due to similar chipsets) that has the same coil noise--quite loud, in fact...

    Is the TX on a ASUS AC3200 2x2 or 3x3 ?

What firmware on the 68R & 3200? Just last night I got 1300/1300 on AC68R .1013 in Bridge mode, AC3200 .9313 in Router mode. The channel may matter as well. I was on the high band 5GHz ch 169 (with Auto select for channel)

RT-AC68P: cannot modify settings (EDIT: browser issue. See my post of 2015-12-18)

@David Arnstein Yes, by "hard disk" I was referring to USB, which has been a RAM-eater in the past. Does the router fall over even if you just let it sit there, powered on? (I suspect that it will.) It's hard to say what exactly is wrong with it, but I think you're right: it's defective. I...

[Preview] 380.57 alpha test builds for all models

Just FYI, stock firmware on the RT-AC5300 is 3.0.0.4.380_753-g9c0ce54 (last number is commit ID). It'd be interesting to look at what changes went in between 753 and 858. Running with stock for a bit at first.

RT-AC68P: cannot modify settings (EDIT: browser issue. See my post of 2015-12-18)

Don't plug in your hard disk until after you've done most of your settings. You can reboot after applying just a few settings to avoid exhausting RAM. I take it you are on .9313 already? Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

DHCP not working from ASUS router through ASUS bridge

You're certain that AP Isolated is not checked in the Wireless settings, correct? I have, btw, had failures of DHCP on 5GHz as well, but I'm starting to suspect there is something going on with my 3200 hardware : I can no longer achieve uplink throughput over 5 Mbps (often it is 0.1Mbps)...

    ASUS RT-AC5300

Oh, you are using Smart Connect...I have low expectations for Smart Connect. 3200 Smart Connect was Alpha-test feature. For 5300, it is probably Beta-test feature, LOL. I had better luck just configuring Roam Assist feature--at least it kept me from lingering on a weak signal!

DHCP not working from ASUS router through ASUS bridge

@Nicholas Eubanks You are correct: the problem is with the main router, not the access points. If I replace my main router with a non-ASUS solution, DHCP works across all access points. If I replace my Access Points with non-ASUS access points, problem still occurs. You have a large network...
