SOLVED [RT-AC3200] Worried about Router Reboots Please Help

Yes, just changing mode can trigger the leak. Leak is around 6MB per reconfig, so that can explain our 6MB RAM difference exactly. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

SOLVED [RT-AC3200] Worried about Router Reboots Please Help

Oh, btw, I expect we will see another firmware release soon as th AC68 and AC87 have both seen some bug and security fixes on Friday. The 3200 seems to track with the 68 in this regard...or we'll have to wait for Merlin to merge. Things will only get better. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

SOLVED [RT-AC3200] Worried about Router Reboots Please Help

Mine has gone up to 33%, then down to 29%. When I just checked it was at 28%. Not sure what causes the fluctuations, but we're way below anything to be concerned about. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

SOLVED [RT-AC3200] Worried about Router Reboots Please Help

Doh! I meant 29%, not 29MB! That's around 73MB for me. With samba on, I don't think 79MB is unreasonable at all. Not to worry. If you get north of 80%, I'd worry, but not at the level you're seeing! Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

SOLVED [RT-AC3200] Worried about Router Reboots Please Help

79MB...wow that is starkly different from my 29MB which leveled off. Have you gone in and reconfigured wireless during this time? (I know for certain there is a memory leak when I do something that restarts wireless section) If not, there is definitely a leak getting exposed by your specific...

    2x rt-ac66u DHCP problem

The two clients vying for the same address comment got me thinking. I have an access point connected to a repeater. Everything behind the repeater gets its MAC address modified when relayed back to the main network, which means that if a device moves from being connected to the access point to...

Merlin FW 378.52_2 on RT-AC3200: upnp lease file access bug

Apparent file system problem exhibited in syslog: Nov 6 21:05:07 miniupnpd[700]: could not open lease file: /var/lib/misc/upnp.leases Nov 6 21:05:09 miniupnpd[704]: could not open lease file: /var/lib/misc/upnp.leases I don't recall ever seeing the above issue on .9135 stock on my RT-AC3200...

    Asus AC3200 Lock ups.

I've seen the 3200 go bananas on my modem at lease expiration. I'm beginning to think the "aggressive" dhcp setting (on by default) may be in play here... Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

Alpha builds for RT-AC88U and RT-AC3100

Glad to hear you're not suffering! I was afraid of a more "alpha" build. How's the 5GHz range? Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

    Memory optimization on 378.56_2

The nvram setting and the value in proc are two different things. If your nvram is set, you have the optimization turned on. You should see an increase in the reported RAM use after you activated it. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

Alpha builds for RT-AC88U and RT-AC3100

What was the full version number of the stock firmware after you updated? At the moment, I see nothing as far as downloadable firmware for your router on the Asus support website, so I hope you're not stuck with the Merlin alpha firmware until they post it...

RT-N66-R Wireless Signal significantly less then Wired

Run a speed test with the firewall setting turned off (then turn it back on) and post your results. These older models are starting to show their age as the router software gets bloated. If you sped up your connection and 2.4GHz slows down because of it, router workload is definitely in the...

    Asus DDNS: Unauthorized Registration Request

RT-N66-R Wireless Signal significantly less then Wired

I expected that to be true, but in my high interference environment, I definitely saw an impact on my AC3200 when I looked at this a few months back. I have not looked at the hardware specs of the N66R however...

Samba share for Guest SSID users?

Some NAS devices will allow you to restrict access by IP or MAC. If you put group 1 into the IP range that could work, but IP restrictions alone aren't terribly secure. Is that what you're after? Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

Help on DHCP for custom bridge.

Looks like you might have to define some additional tags in dnsmasq.conf to define which dhcp settings apply to which subnet. Sample dnsmasq.conf file here http://oss.segetech.com/intra/srv/dnsmasq.conf has some examples of a "red" network with additional lines defining which specific dhcp-host...
