Kasperksy Trojan warnings several times a day on this site

Sorry, not an expert in this at all , but don't those links help you at all? What's the link with you and tgdaily?

Kasperksy Trojan warnings several times a day on this site

Unique to this site! Been getting this for a couple of weeks now, presumably from an advertising partner? Attached is a log of the more recent ones. Any chance someone can kick back at those feeding these ads and fix? Inactive other-discussions...

    RT-AC87U_3.0.0.4_378_4950

In my testing 8.3 does nothing to help with 5Ghz beamforming: http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/93101165-post2879.html I am sure it may help in other ways to give stable, high performing wifi, but beamforming is an Asus/Quantenna issue I think.

How to reset nvram on asus rt87u ? please help

I am CONVINCED there is a problem with fully resetting this router. I'm NOT convinced ANY of the methods work reliably. Of course they work for most people most of the time, but if you are unlucky and your router gets in an odd state.....There are a number of people, me included, who have had...

    RT-AC87U tweaks and tips?

The one big tip, unless testing over the next few days prove otherwise, is to leave off (it should be off by default) 5Ghz beamforming. That was still causing problems prior to IOS 8.3 and it's too early to say on that.

    RT-AC87U_3.0.0.4_378_4950

Well the honest truth is the official version of this firmware is less than a week old. Some, like me, were running it when it was a beta for about a week before that and we have also been trying a few other betas that were steps along the way . With all the testing I've been doing, and it's...

    RT-AC87U_3.0.0.4_378_4950

What happened exactly? iPhone lost its connection while you were using it? While it was asleep, but it reconnected when it woke up ? It stayed connected but it had no internet access?

I don't know what is a question and what is a statement in your post! I know from a post by RMerlin in another thread that some of the 4950 fixes are going to have to wait until Merlin .53, so I don't know if the USB Modem fixes are in .52. You should ask in the Merlin thread (assuming you were...

    RT-AC87U_3.0.0.4_378_4950

I too had a weird problem (With my guest network), which I talked about here, with 3 different firmware versions, including 4950, on 2 different routers. That mysteriously vanished when I installed the, identical, 4950 release version over the 4950 beta...

Problems with my ASUS RT-AC87U Router when using another as an AP

No problem. Glad it's all working out! FYI, I have changed my mind on Roaming Assist. It works as advertised, but in my experience devices that need to maintain a connection e.g. playing media across the network, like iDevices and AirPlay, don't seem to best like being booted off a radio. While...

Some great results I got roaming between radios and APs using AirPlay: http://www.snbforums.com/threads/rt-ac87u-itunes-playback-stopping-over-airplay.23646/#post-176376 I must admit I was surprised this was as flawless as it was!

[RT-AC87U] iTunes playback stopping over AirPlay

I did wonder how the iDevices would cope in a marginal signal situation where they needed to roam. I have to say I was totally blown away by the brilliant performance of my iPad Air 2 with 378.4950! I played a radio station over AirPlay and wandered between my AC87 AP and Router's furthest...

    RT-AC87U_3.0.0.4_378_4950

I find with beamforming OFF my iDevices sometimes (but not always) seem to roam down to 2.4 Ghz, but they stay connected somewhere - Asus Wireless log will show them somewhere, 2.4 or 5, and the wireless symbol is always there as soon as they are woken up, eg. by the lid opening. With...

    RT-AC87U_3.0.0.4_378_4950

In my view 5Ghz beamforming is still broken in 4950. It is still disabled by default if I remember correctly. And that "connected but no wifi" problem has also been tied in several threads to beamforming.

[RT-AC87U] iTunes playback stopping over AirPlay

It was not a criticism. Until literally 2 days ago 5Ghz, with official firmware, was a mess. Now I'd say it is on a par with just about any good router out there. Do you have examples of problems? I've been following just about all the threads here and elsewhere and aside from the fact there...

[RT-AC87U] iTunes playback stopping over AirPlay

It's not completely clear to me if 5Ghz on .52 will be as good as 4950; RMerlin said "similar" above. There were definitely improvements from 4825, to 4839 and I think 4850 too and I'm not sure how many of those, if any, will have to wait 'til .53. So, it'll be interesting to see how .52 goes...

    RT-AC87U_3.0.0.4_378_4950

That's interesting, because it was my Air 2 and iPhone6 that were having problems - with beamforming on it would disconnect in sleep and when you woke it up there would be no WiFi symbol for couple of seconds. Never happens without beamforming. Older iPads seemed fine. I also felt there might...
