    In Windows, puTTY is a good tool for looking at the jffs partition. Mac and Linux users can just use the terminal to ssh (although linux users can get a copy of puTTY too with "sudo apt-get install putty").

    XIII - I got the same response about setting a fixed channel on the 2.4GHz wifi for my Monitor Audio S200 speakers. Despite being a UK product (channels 1-13) they used a US wifi chip (channels 1-11) so I had to fix the channel so that it didn't drift to 12 or 13.

    The grid works as expected for me and remembers its settings over a power cycle. This is on an RT-AC87U.

    ASUS .4950 build has been stable for 3h45m so far and it is time to switch it off for the night. I will give it a few more hours tomorrow and then swap back to Merlin 378.52 and repeat the test. It is possible I failed to clear nvram properly so I feel I should give Merlin .52 another chance...

    Bad news I am afraid. Despite upgrading to 378.52 the AirPlay 5GHz streaming stopped after about 2h15m with exactly the same symptoms. Audio stopped, I checked the iPad2 which was right next to me and saw that iTunes playback had stopped. The preferred AirPlay device had dropped back to the...

    Right - factory reset done and on 378.52 now. Fingers crossed... EDIT : two hours passed and still streaming from iPad2 on 5GHz radio through to the S200 on the 2.4GHz radio. No interruption in the iTunes playback.

    Given the contradictions in the two posts, I would appreciate a link to the 5GHz streaming issues and anything that says ASUS 378.4950 addresses it where Merlin does not. I have a vague memory from an earlier Merlin discussion that same SSID caused problems rather than helped.

    Just an update to the WPS light issue... I think I may have observed an event where the WPS light toggles that is easily repeatable. I have both radios set to turn on and off on a schedule of ON at 07:00 and OFF at 23:00 all seven days. A couple of minutes after 23:00 on two consecutive days...

    Ta da! That was it. While I had used Notepad++, it was still not happy with the end of the first line. I recreated the scripts from scratch using the internal editor in WinSCP and voila - they worked first time.

    I am getting closer... the scripts work but don't start as I would expect. cd /jffs/scripts ls -l *.sh This shows both the ledson.sh and ledsoff.sh and proves they have execute permission. Calling the ledsoff script directly... ledsoff.sh ... gives the error... -sh...
