    ntpMerlin What is ntpMerlin?

Would someone kindly explain to me what ntpMerlin exactly is, what it's used for and when I would want/need it? I was just look through some of the addons on amtm and I came across this, but I'm not quite sure that I fully understand what an NTP is and what purpose it serves.

    CakeQOS CakeQoS-Merlin v2.0.0 alpha

It's interesting, I have the same router you do (just the RGB version.) When I do a speedtest, I don't exceed 240. What did you have as your download/upload? Edit: I set my speeds to 350 on download instead of the 450 I had before. I now magically get more speeds? Is this normal? EDIT...

    CakeQOS CakeQoS-Merlin v2.0.0 alpha

On the download link? I've always been told to add ack-filter to the upload link. My connection is 500/20... should I change that?

    CakeQoS Speedtest at 100%

    Perfect, thanks so much!

    CakeQoS Speedtest at 100%

I just wanted to make sure that when I do a speedtest, that only 1 CPU core reaches 100% load? Is it normal that all the others are at 0%? This is for my friends router, not mine, just for reference.

    System Memory running low

So I do have a USB flash drive plugged in, 32gb. How would you allocate memory to there?

    Perfect. Thanks for this information.

Double NAT with DHCP off - Would I lose CakeQoS?

Quick question, I'm in a double NAT scenario and I was told another way to get around this is to disable DHCP on the second router. If I do this, do I lose access to CakeQoS or how does that work? Bridge mode is still not an option for us.

    Small Network Packet Loss

Glad to hear you've had some good early results. Hoping it stays that way.

    Small Network Packet Loss

Believe there is a way to monitor the temperatures. Somewhere under the Systems tab, so that might one to try and well.
  15. S

    Small Network Packet Loss

Yeah, that's why I recommend starting with just swapping Ethernet cables. Try different Ethernet cables when plugging into the router and when plugging into a computer.

    Small Network Packet Loss

So by the looks of it, the packet loss is happening on your end, according to PingPlotter at least. It's not happening within the network (which is a good thing, as it means it can be resolved from your end.) Now I'm no professional, so others can feel free to chime in to help. If it was me...

    Small Network Packet Loss

My advice would be to run a pingplotter test to see exactly where your packet loss is happening, whether it's within your network or on your end.

    Small Network Packet Loss

It's likely Fibre to the Network, and then switches to a coax cable.

    CakeQOS CakeQOS-Merlin v1.0.8

    Ah okay. Thank you.

    CakeQOS CakeQoS-Merlin v2.0.0 alpha

1.0.8 script? Was this the script in where you went into PuTTy and manually installed it? I'm currently using Cake from the beta firmware 386.2, so I'm guessing all is fine from my end? Anyhow, I installed it and it loaded in properly, so I'm guessing I'm not running that script. I don't know...
