    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

Can you do an extended test at https://www.dnsleaktest.com/ and check the result for any DNS that you haven't set in the installer. Knowing what they are might actually get us somewhere guessing where the leak comes from.

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

No not a problem with Frank more like @GoNz0's router environment. What is your client DNS settings, router IP only? From DHCP?

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

That TZ file is generated by the firmware not me, and the format to write GMT+8 is GMT-8, for actual -8, it would be GMT8. I generate the /etc/localtime point to a binary file generate from https://data.iana.org/time-zones/tz-link.html . For the actual problem you guys are having, I actually...

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

Won't be supported here, the reason as stated by Marco. @all new version now has the time in syslog correctly set if you setup your timezone inside the installer.

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

@M@rco: I had the issue you had before once, but then it went thus I removed some dns workarounds in dnsmasq. As it's not only me, I added them back. @all The timezone issue, there's a fix. It will be in my next update ;)

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

I'm on different branch on github for this beta, check my beta post, you can see the changelog for the beta there with all the activities. I've been here, if you check my script code, didn't work because as I said on github, even with this info GoLang does not have the binary required to...

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

It's crond doing the logging, not much I can do. I know people will complain this is why I used a shell background process before for this, but as we were having with process being killed, I wanted to save some RAM.

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

I know, because I did that. I touch that file to save date time for restoring them when you reboot your router so any secure connection at boot is more likely to work. EDIT: I used to run a separate shell process to do this before with no logging, no one noticed, I might have run mining...

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

The short answer is we're f***ed. The long answer, I leave it on your issue at https://github.com/jedisct1/dnscrypt-proxy/issues/57 as I read the damn source code from golang and it's kind of technical.

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

Just reiterate, nohup is not needed if only I use it from wan-start running by the firmware. entware-ng has its "manager script" as well without nohup started from post-mount usually. This is mainly the issue with people start running dnscrypt-proxy or restart it through terminal with or...

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

No, timezone is not fixed :(.
  12. B

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

I added nohup because people starts to use my manager script in terminal to restart dnscrypt-proxy as we have a configuration file that people like to reload now, not because I thought it's related to your issue at all. If it's actually your issue then great, if not we need to debug the memory...

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

The point of daemonizing is to have a process running in background with no standard io attached to any terminal. Only the latter part is different. @AtAM1 My common setting with Marco is having mm disabled and he also have permission issue like you before but without problem ;).
  14. B

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

It's coincident. I will explain below. Seems like we have the most likely culprit stated here. The memory management feature should have been disabled by default. The problem is people freaked out because they suddenly see they don't have any free RAM anymore, thus made @RMerlin enable it by...

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

@AtAM1 thanks for noticing that, it's fixed but that's unrelated to your issue. It is simply because I am OCD with different uid:gid pair from the binary tar package that I added chown there. dnscrypt-proxy in my package will always be run as nobody through nonroot binary for safety. P.S. File...

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

Who knows? Only by having more logs of process termination we may know more. This is only something that Frank can do though as someone said that loglevel 0 does not provide more details here already.

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

Not likely, because my script simply launches the app.

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

For my config, I also have memory management disabled because RAM is supposed to be used as cache, free RAM is wasted RAM. I also have 512MB swap only but I do not use any other script. Still on 380.69_2 with settings I set for quite some times (months). No other settings applied to sysfs...

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

Hum, in that case, both of you might want to report it to Frank. He might enable some more logging so we can better understand your problem.
  20. B

    DNScrypt dnscrypt installer for asuswrt

The problem is not the proxy running stable with daemonized mode but without, thus we need to see the full log (level 0) when it crashes, that way both I and Frank can see what the problem is. If you can't provide it, I and Frank won't be able to look at it as we don't have the issue.
