    So does that mean jack could switch out NTPD with crony in the script easily since it's a part of entware, in wondering if Asus could do it at a firmware level.

    It most likely will reset the lease and the isp system will detect the device as Thier own, im with Optus in Australia on a VDSL 2 connection, only way for VoIP to register is with a mac clone.

    I use pi hole personally, it's easier to setup and use.

    Set it's IP as LAN dns, then set DNS filter to router, don't forget to set the domain name which you use for conditional forwarding which shows up on pi as host names rather than IP address.

    I'd have to rebuild my VM I'm not sure if the cfw script works with mint those I'm sure it should, I can give it a test, atm my current Linux vm is manjaro, but I can add a Ubuntu one I guess.

    Have you tried a factory reset, and a manual re setup see if that helps.

    Use 95% it's how you are supposed to set it.

    That's for ADSL don't tick if you have VDSL because it uses ptm not atm.

    Did you try rebooting the Nas?

    Could you test something like changing wan DNS to open DNS see if that makes a difference.
