CakeQOS cake not working with AX58U on 386.1

@Tekneek - I believe you were affected, so do let me/us know if all is good, and I can get it pushed to the master branch later, barring no issues. Apologies again on the delay.

CakeQOS cake not working with AX58U on 386.1

Please check the thread, I've pushed the new binaries to the develop branch. Once tested I'll get it rolled to master. https://github.com/ttgapers/cakeqos-merlin/issues/60

Ring doorbell strange issues (laggyness and wacky ping results)

I have my Ring devices on Guest Network 2 - for IoT devices on 2.4 Ghz. I do also use Cake for QoS - however I think much of the flakiness with Ring is the proximity and the chime wifi extender network as you mentioned. I have my Ecobee on the same network and have little to no issues.

    [Alpha] 386.2

Which means both cakeqos (and perhaps suricata_manager) scripts logic need to be tweaked for this. I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed this last night. Win-win for the privacy conscious!!!!!

    [Alpha] 386.2

You can try cakeqos in the meantime if you would like, with the settings we are currently testing based on @RMerlin post prior. I am curious if the experience is more stable. This is assuming you were using settings that were different to the defaults above. I tended to recommend besteffort for...

    [Alpha] 386.2

Good question. I am testing right now and although I did have to enable the slider, the option for "Withdraw" on the Admin>Privacy tab is still not available (similar to my routers with the addon only).....

    [Alpha] 386.2

These are all early days still - and thinking about the logic for it -- assuming we work out the hows, on implementing any customization to what comes from Merlin OOTB. In short yes, I/we would prefer it this way as well, but a bit too early to absolutely sure.

    [Alpha] 386.2

Correct as is the case with the addon now :)

    [Alpha] 386.2

This is actually an interesting ask as torrents can be tough (but not insurmountable) for the bakers in here.

Wireguard Session Manager - Discussion thread (CLOSED/EXPIRED Oct 2021 use http://www.snbforums.com/threads/session-manager-discussion-2nd-thread.75129/)

Thanks for taking this up @Martineau I am truly interested in @Odkrys implementation and work prior (the genesis Cake builder) and up to today! I will continue keeping a close eye on this one.

CakeQOS cake not working with AX58U on 386.1

Sorry for the late response, but hope to have this resolved in the next release formally. We know about the new builds - and it will get there. Thanks for jumping to get this going in the interim for this router. Since @RMerlin mentioned it in the Alpha post...

CakeQOS Still having ping spikes, even with QOS on. Bad gaming experience.

@askan7 - this thread is definitely off topic now. At all times, if there is only one mod you can choose to install post Merlin installed firmware, it would always be Skynet for me. The base firewall is ok at best. The flexibilty that Skynet adds as an advanced firewall with little overhead is...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

1x AC68U AP (Media Bridge) updated. All stable. It's OOTB so don't expect issues. Will have to see how I feel about the 3 main routers this weekend! Thanks as usual @RMerlin

CakeQOS Still having ping spikes, even with QOS on. Bad gaming experience.

It's a matter of preference really. I prefer Diversion Lite as I use the Medium canned blocklist. Been using it for years and hasn't caused issues. I do use unbound as well.

Media bridge mode at 5 GHz

Try setting the 5Ghz to low fixed channel like 48 on the main router.

CakeQOS cake not working with AX58U on 386.1

Not so much but it shows you are using eth4. You would need some spare time to remove, reboot and reinstall cake if you would like to test further. Other users do not seem to be having the issue you are experiencing. But this is Beta Merlin you are running correct? If so, if @jata is also...
